Drinking question for Marshal

"The name literally meaning water of life, which demonstrates the high regard that Norwegians have for it."

It is interesting how water of life turns up as the name of so many drinks, uisce beatha (Irish for whiskey), and I was told okowita (Polish, for vodka I think but I might be remembering wrong).  I knew a few others, but of course now that I'm trying to remember them I can't.
