Google and The 1911
« on: March 24, 2011, 08:27:54 PM »
I see Google is celebrating Houdini's birthday.  On March 29th I will be celebrating the adoption of the 1911 by the U.S. military.  Do you think Google will put up a special banner?

Maybe, have to wait and see.
If they don't they will be about the only ones not commemorating it somehow.

Google? Celebrate the 1911? ? That's a joke, right?

I sent them an email once when they did nothing for Veteran's Day. They actually responded, sent me a smarmy email back about how there are so many events and they can't possibly do something for all of them.

They are HQ'd in the US, right?

I always considered them liars and hypocrites for getting into bed with the Chinese and other gummints, what with Google's whole nonsensical "Don't do evil" motto BS. It seems to have been morphed into "Don't do evil - unless there's a buck to be made!"

At that point Google became f..king little fascists IMNSHO for their refusal to honor a key US holiday. I grit my teeth every time they do something, like this one for Houdini (  ??? ), and yet have ignored Veteran's Day every year since then.

F..k Google.

They are HQ'd in silicon valley somewhere south of san francisco. My SIL used to work there. The founders are foreigners. They are pretty left wing. They want to rule the world. Anything else you need to know?

Yes it is ment as a joke.  They are so left wing it hurts.  As a matter of fact they are so left wing I can barely see them from way way over here on the right. I smell them tho.  I am a 1911 lover from way back.  It maybe that I'm just so familiar with the pistol that it makes me feel comfort or maybe a patriotic thing. Either way it's my favorite pistol platform. I say happy birthday or adoptionday on the 29th 2011.
