I got my BLAM in the mail today. It's a nice looking bit of kit. The 2 screws are already in it and the hex key was with it in a heavy-duty Ziploc bag with the instructions. They look clear and complete but I only glanced at them.

Down Range Cafe / Re: Russia's Staggering Losses In Ukraine

And speaking of staggering loses, one YouTube video claims that Putin lost 1400 men in Ukraine today! Another guy said they attacked on all 5 fronts and gained meters of ground on 1 but the other 4 held. Enjoy watching bombs dropping into open hatches of tanks from drones. It may just make your day. :)

Ukrainian snipers hunt Russian troops at night as anti-aircraft gunners blast Putin's drones.

So cool.  Thanks DB.  Not being into "gaming" I really wasn't aware of what was out there.  Good starting place.
Sent you a PM re trying to see if Ares will help get your uncle's story told, BTW. :)

I don't know if I posted any of this before, but Austrian singer Falco released the German-language song Der Kommissar as a single in December 1981, and it was on his first album in 1982. Then British rock band After the Fire (or ATF) had a cover version of Der Kommissar, as an English translation on their album Der Kommissar. Then in 1985, Roger Daltrey of The Who had a song called After the Fire on his solo album Under a Raging Moon. It was written by Pete Townshend, also of The Who. I always wondered if this English band  who wrote a song with the same name as another English band had any reason for doing so. Keith Moon was also a member of The Who until he died of a drug overdose in 1978 at age 32. He had a habit of kicking over his drums and destroying things. You could call him a raging Moon. Or maybe a lunatic.

I just found out Falco's album Out of the Dark, and the single form it, Out of the Dark, were released after he died in 1998 at age 40.

It's an AC-130U Spooky II, successor to AC-130A Spectre, AC-130E Spectre, AC-130J Ghostrider, AC-130H Spectre, and predecessor of AC-130W Stinger II, if I got them in the right order. They're all retired except the AC-130J Ghostrider that's used for Special Operations. Most of the variations were called Spectre, vs. "Puff" being Spooky.

Puff, the Magic Dragon was a Douglas AC-47 Spooky and was the first in a series of fixed-wing gunships developed by the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. The C-47 version was Project Gunship I, and the C-130 was Project Gunship II. The AC-47 was a United C-47, the military version of the DC-3, that had been modified by mounting three 7.62 mm General Electric miniguns to fire through two rear window openings and the side cargo door, all on the left side of the aircraft, to provide close air support for ground troops. The rumor I heard was that it would put a bullet every inch over an area the size of a football field. All I can say for sure is that 3 miniguns will spit out a lot of bullets in a hurry. Here's a time-lapse photo from Wikipedia, showing tracer rounds visible at night while converging on the target of an AC-47D performing a pylon turn in Saigon in 1968.

Orange-sesame pork rice bowl topped with green onions, crispy wonton strip pieces, and multicolor sesame seeds. I burned the rice but scraped the unburned rice out and it tasted good. It helped that I could see through the bottom of the pot where the black ring was. I used a lot of oil frying everything else, so I may suffer heartburn or something later. It tasted good, but I still don't like cooking. It takes too much time.
