I think I would rather carry a .40 than a 9mm. The brand of gun doesn't matter.

Use what feels good in the hand, never use something that fits poorly. If the Sig works for you go for it. I use a G26 as a carry piece because its accurate and fits like a glove.

I was checking things out last night & the Ruger does fit my hand better. The Sig is OK but the trigger is just a shade to far forward to fit my hand perfectly. Also I like the thought of a bigger hole with the 40. So it looks like that is what I will be carrying.

Good choice Joe. Only thing better is a .45 in my book.

There is a lot of discussion about "which gun" for this or that. The two considerations are reliability and reasonable power. If both guns are reliable  the power difference is minimal. Use what you like as long as it fits your hand. I like Sigs over Ruger but that is personal taste and nothing more.  Choose what you like and don't look back.

I carried a M-11 /Sig 228 for years and it went bang every time.

Very easy to maintain. Wasn't not ammo sensitive.

It should be smaller and easier to conceal than the Ruger.

If you can, go to a range and try both from concealment.

Ruger make a good pistol, just clunkier and heavier than it needs to be IMHO.

40 S&W is a a waste of gunpowder.  ;)

Ratcatcher55,
You are right the Sigs are dependable. Mine was given to me by my brother who is a navy cop.

I see that Ruger has discontinued the P-89.  The .40 & .45 versions of the P Series may soon follow.  If you like these pistols, get them while you can.  I guess I should give up on the idea of a 10mm one.
