That's so sad. :(  What's even worse is that you can slap the word "tactical" on anything and some shmuck will buy it.
You could sell combat tactical toasters on ebay if you wanted too. Just put a Picatinny rail between the bread slots.  ::)
""It may be laid down as a primary position, and the basis of our system, that every Citizen who enjoys the protection of a free Government, owes not only a proportion of his property, but even his personal services to the defence of it, and consequently that the Citizens of America (with a few legal and official exceptions) from 18 to 50 Years of Age should be borne on the Militia Rolls, provided with uniform Arms, and so far accustomed to the use of them, that the Total strength of the Country might be called forth at a Short Notice on any very interesting Emergency." - George Washington. Letter to Alexander Hamilton, Friday, May 02, 1783

This rifle IS tactical. Or at least, has been...

long ago  ;D
Among the many misdeeds of the British rule in India, history will look upon the act of depriving a whole nation of arms, as the blackest.

As an 1891 Argentine Mauser owner in 7.65x53. It's not really tactical. I remember Haz's Ishapore post on combat rifles. There was a link that had Mausers, Garand, Krag, and others, that were some of the best rifles in history,...

But tactical?, I don't agree. The 8mm mauser in the OP looks like the high school kid that tweaked up his mom's Buick with bells and whistles that don't do anything but takeaway from the classic lines of the rifle.

My Sig556 tactical.
My Arg. Mauser? Not. But it is a ball to shoot, and will hit a target downrange, as good as the shooter.
Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.

It takes a sick mind to ruin a good Mauser.

Was kinda creepy, wasn't it? The AR-15 bayonet lug put it over the top for me,,,

I have an Argentine Mauser I "sporterized" back in the day, and yes I'm going to hell for it. I was young...sorry. I also have a Siamese Mauser action converted to 45/70 decades ago by my whacked out father that I envision someday as a "short heavy rifle," or maybe a "heavy short rifle" —  something that's easy to carry that will still lob 500-grain softballs.

I definitely want a rail-mounted coffemaker on it!

But if Obama becomes President, this may be what becomes of "tactical" in a few years time.

When I was young there were quite a few sporterized Argentine Mausers in the woods for the opening day of PA deer season.
We called them " Llama guns". They worked just fine though some were so ugly as to make you shake your head at the butcher job done on them.

+100.... :o :o :o :o :'( :'( :'(
that was one of the saddest (Ugliest?) firearms I've ever seen.
If someone showed up at the range with that around here he'd be talked about (laughed at?) for years.
"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison
