I sold off my .357Max and all the brass. Now I miss it. I want something, uh, big. Yeah, yeah. Something that really let you know you're holding power in your hand. I was sorting out some of my videos and I watch the one of me shooting the Max. It wasn't a big deal. I went through 50+ rounds that day in probably less than an hour. Also that was through a 10" T/C which is pretty light weight.
The .44Mag is nice, but compared to the .357Max it really is somewhat tame. I know I could load up some super hot stuff with H-100. Or I could get a 4" 629 if I want that mini-cannon experience. But..
So I started looking at the 460V. A nice 5" .460SW that shoots, of course, 45LC and 454Casul. If I do a sinking fund I can probably have it by Christmas. It's all one would need for NA game. And of course for the burgler behind the fridge at the neighbor's house.
BUT.t.t.t.t.t
Then I got thinking, why not go all the way. Why stop at a .460. Why not a .500. I mean if you're going to stand on your hind legs with a hand cannon, it might as well be a .50. Right? I've seen the videos of the people about killing themselves shooting these monsters. (I'm only loading one round for the first time.) I got to believe there's a technique, that I somehow know but that others haven't a clue. 70/30 support/strong hand grip ratio, maybe?
There's got to be a lot of them out there, used. Fired once and put back in the box.
