People crack me up when they say how much power their motor made on the dyno....   but how much power  is it making  when you are using It?   If you never go above 4k rpm,  who cares what you  make at 7k.

People are always amazed that I actually detuned  my diesel truck to make less hp, but keep the same torque...  It is very simple, it made it so I can get 1.5 mpg better.    While that is not a lot, it does increase my mileage by almost 10%.   On drive 60k miles a year, that's about 400 gallons of fuel. Or to put it another way, $1000a year more in my pocket. While not a lot of savings, every little bit helps and I am not giving the .gov as much money in taxes, which is always a good thing
I always break all the clay pigeons,  some times its even with lead.

If you are referring to my comment, what the situation was is that Chevy way understated the HP of that Z28 and road testers wanted to find out why it was killing cars with listed HP much  higher...so they did the testing...I said dyno really not knowing what procedure they used...

I actually weighed more...so I had to make more power.  ;D ;D ;D ;D

327 cid vette motor with a 350 trans in a S-10 pick-up makes driving more interesting.

My lil Kawasaki triple two stroker could toast ANYTHING for 900-1000 ft!

Past that, I needed another gear...or two!

A guy I went to high school with put a 454 in his Nova. I heard it was fast but never experienced it for myself.

On the subject of vices, the seven deadly vices according to Dante were:

1. Pride or vanity
2. Envy or jealousy
3. Wrath or anger
4. Sloth or laziness
5. Avarice, covetousness, greed
6. Gluttony
7. Lust
""It may be laid down as a primary position, and the basis of our system, that every Citizen who enjoys the protection of a free Government, owes not only a proportion of his property, but even his personal services to the defence of it, and consequently that the Citizens of America (with a few legal and official exceptions) from 18 to 50 Years of Age should be borne on the Militia Rolls, provided with uniform Arms, and so far accustomed to the use of them, that the Total strength of the Country might be called forth at a Short Notice on any very interesting Emergency." - George Washington.
