My Gerber Custom Assert Knife

I didn't know until Sunday that you could order customized knives and pocket multi-tools from Gerber. That's when I ordered my custom Assert knife. I started out by choosing a trillium white handle, since I don't already have a knife with a white handle, then I thought about how dirty my hands get most days. So white was out, and drab red was in. I chose the deep carry clip over a standard clip, in a satin finish. Of the 3 blade finishes, black oxide seemed like the best choice, especially when it's getting laser engraved. When I saw all the various pictures and patterns, etc., I knew what I had to get. There's a big ol' bear on one side, and look where it's headed. Straight for my tent! I chose burnt orange for the barrel spacers in between the handles, because I thought it looked good with the red handles. I stuck with the same color for the thumb stud and lock caps. I thought about cyan for the lock caps, before I chose the color for the thumb stud, but didn't want too many different colors. I wanted something more classy than tacky, or I would have chosen 3 different colors. Maybe on another knife, I will. And here's how it specs out -- 2.98" blade, which is absolutely ideal for me, and a weight of under 2 ounces.

Very nice.
I'm just too much of an Emerson Wave fan though.

Thanks, guys. I know at least one of my friends will laugh when he sees the bear and tent on the blade. It won't need any explanation, either. I just don't know if the color combination was too subtle. I should go back to the build page and see how the black blade and red handle would look with all cyan hardware.

All the hardware matched the pocket clip. Now I think it looks better with black hardware instead of satin finished. I didn't think things through well enough before I ordered.
Help! I don't know what to do.

I like all the different variations I came up with, so I may as well stick with what I ordered. I figured I had until they started putting it together to cancel, then re-order a different configuration, but what the heck, it ain't bad.
