McCain blamed the Tea Party for the shutdown...well, a guy named Cruz had the balls to stand up. The great fears of the RINO's were visited upon them when the government shut down.
Now, however, it seems to me the shutdown is hurting the Dems more than the Repubs. BHO has 37% approval (right, I believe that it is that high) and the news media won't mention a word about low approval but when Bush was at a similar number it was repeated on the news ad infinitum, ad nauseum.
I think BHO and the Dems are looking for a way out of this now and that their showboating did not go well for them to this point. Of course, if the girl Boehner caves and sticks her behind in the air as usual then it may not hurt BHO and the Dems very much at all.
Seems to me, a little stand, a little leadership and the Dems temper tantrums, name calling and shrill claims of the end of the world don't work so well. People follow leaders and I for one am glad Cruz stood up because some of our mindless fellow one-party citizens have been awakened....enough of them, maybe not but I like this better than rolling over all the time.
Cracks in the Dem solidarity are easy to see. If the Repubs start leaning on the Dems claiming a shift in political attitudes, remind them of the anti-gun bums being thrown out in Colorado, remind them of the way town hall meeting were going down, explain the tax exempt status of the Tea Party may mean revival, ect...enough of the Dems will be second guessing and worried about getting re-elected to make some real changes.
The DC Mayor and non-voting Congressional Rep clearly did not hold back dressing down Reid and BHO...the drive for self-preservation over principal is a big thing for Dems and RINO's. Not only that, but the MO for the Dem leadership is to bully and threaten and I imagine there are more than a few Dems who are tired of being threatened to stay in line that are just looking for enough of their brethren to jump ship so that they can jump too.
Conventional wisdom was that Obamacare was a steamroller. Played right Obamacare may go away along with a bunch of lefties.
It was crystal clear that conservative leadership, albeit as exercised by Senator Cruz, would provide benefits and the McCain/Boehner/Graham/King path accomplished nothing more than slowing a misperceived "juggernaut" of leftist ideals. It is equally clear the Democratic party is ripe for political manipulation to make conservative gains that were incomprehensible to the RINO's just a week ago. I harbor no misperception that the nation has turned around and without getting this socialist vote-buying system reversed the harbinger of doom may only be pushed back a bit.
At this time, I would like to especially ridicule Senator McCain and Representative King for their vitriol towards conservatives and their shortsightedness in assessing the political landscape. They should change their party affiliation to Democrat, aspiring Communist Sympathizers or scum puppies, which ever is available in their area.
