A Request
« on: November 13, 2009, 04:18:52 PM »
Guys & Girl:

I'm very uncomfortable asking for something for myself, but in this case I need to make an exception.

As some of you know, for the past few years I've been battling the effects of severe pain in my low back, hips and knees.  All three areas have been injured over the years, the knees being bone-on-bone by this time, and all three are full of arthritis.  I am now down to the point where I need the assistance of a cane when walking, and am in such constant pain that even 20mg of Oxycontin every 12 hours no longer even takes the edge off.

I will be seeing a pain specialist in Sioux Falls sometime in the next few weeks.  I'm terribly concerned about this situation, because as it stands, if the pain specialist can't come up with some kind of an answer I'm going to be forced to quit working, at least as far as the "real job" is concerned.

The point I'm trying to get to here is that I would greatly appreciate your prayers  as I head toward this time of my life where we're trying to find some way to manage my pain to make it bearable.

Thank you for your love and prayers, and thank you for your friendship.
I love waking up every morning knowing that Donald Trump is President!!

You are one that always has been and always will be!

Just make sure the bottle doesn't say no Blue Line!  Need to do that again ... soon!

No Blue Line would be simply unacceptable.  I've been known to meet one of my best friends there.   ;D

You got it tt, Never Let'em Get You Down, Right?

Make sure that pain specialist in Sioux Falls can think "outside the box". Lots of potential options out there, that may provide real benefit.

Prayers will keep coming.

Take Care,

Tom, you're on my list as well .  We share similar maladies albeit for different circumstances.

I may add that if your knees are shot, you could look into complete knee replacement and down the road, maybe your hips as well.  Though my situation was due to trauma, your case may make you feel so much better in the long run and maybe alleviate some of your back pain as well.

You might already know this but it was worth mentioning.  You're a young guy (in Hazcat terms  ;D) and to live in that much pain for the rest of your life really sucks.

God Bless and remember, the drugs can help but they can be a bitch to wean (sp) yourself off of!
