Added to my list as well, TT.

Before complete knee replacement, there is always the gel inserts for the knees. They wear out fast 6-12 months), but supposedly bring lots of relief while the knee replacement option is being pursued.

TT, from someone, like Tim, who is walking the same walk, the best advice I can give is if you don't have one, find a good orthopedic specialist/surgeon. There are some recent additions to treatments out there for knees and joints that may be options. The gel inserts and meds, like the Voltaren cream I told you about, may help.

I will continue to keep you, as well as the rest of the 'family', in my daily prayers.

Tom, prayers are coming - and a tip that might prove helpful.  The Lumbar Extender my wife gave me three or four years ago has helped tremendously to control the pain in my lower back that was so bad I'd started walking with a cane.  It was from an arthritic disc, and it pressed on a nerve so that if I was in Wally World for more than 10 minutes my left leg was practically numb.  I know, this will sound like a Billy Mays commercial, but after stretching my spine on the Lumbar Extender for five or ten minutes ever day, over a period of about a month, the pain almost completely vanished.  I use it a couple times a week now to keep my spine stretched and limber.  So simple, and yet so miraculous.  Best to you, buddy, whatever you choose to do.  As for the knees, I know folks who've had replacement surgery, and they're happy with it.

Tom,

It has been a while, and you have been through a lot in that time.  How are things going with the pain?

I can't say that I was "shocked" to see the third leg, but it did leave me at a loss.  Sorry I didn't follow up that day!

Still praying for you and the Mrs. in these times!

Take care, and share if you wish.

Glucosamine-Chondroitin 500/400 mg X 3 a day.  Available at any drug store.
Do this for a month, then you will know if it works or not.
Works for my knees.

Also found that salmon oil and Lecithin is great at solving "getting up in the morning stiffness" .
I'm 60 next month.
