When I picked up my new AR the other day, I showed it to my 15 year old son. The first words out of his mouth where "Gettin ready for the bottom to drop out of the dollar?" He wasn't kidding! If a 15 year old can see it why can't politicians? All I said back was "Thats my boy!" As a family we have had a long talk about what to do when the SHTF, but I have never given him specifics about what might cause it. IMHO every family should have a plan just like an exit plan if your house catches fire.

We've been working on our homestead for a couple of years now, clearing land, putting in a road, digging for the basement, putting in an orchard.  Starting the basement this year, will have the house done by winter next year.
One thing I'm planning on is installing a 2' diameter "drain pipe" out the basement into the woods, just in case.
If you get any information on "root cellars" let me know.
