TEOTWAYKI napkin holders??
« on: April 08, 2008, 08:50:31 AM »
Had to do a small job at a local college last week.  Walked in and there, on every table was a napkin holder with TEOTWAYKI in large letters.  In small letters was some slogan about global warning.
I'm not sure even what to say about it.  Conservatives are supposed to be the fear mongers.  I guess Liberals think that since they are in the right, it's not fear mongering but issuing a valid warning.
Right or wrong, it's still trying to get a point across by scaring the c**p out of college students, not educating them.
I have to admit, when everywhere you looked you saw TEOTWAYKI, it was unsettling, down right weird.

The "Green Scare" is maddening to say the least. Whenever someone raises a question on this matter we're called fascists and shut down before we even begin or when we gain the upper hand in what we think is a debate; however its not a debate to them, its a war and to them we are their mortal enemy not a mere political rival. To many the "final solution" (and yes, in those terms exactly) is socialism, not just in America but worldwide; too many times have I heard the exact phrase "final solution" and that worries me.

The last time someone used that phrase it changed the course of history, and triggered an event in which while the cost is remembered, the cause is not. Those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it and I believe that is exactly what we are facing now. There are way too many coincidences to just shrug this off.

The problem is that the "wrong" people remember history, and the rest can't even spell it. Reading George Orwells 1984 again a couple weeks ago I got the distinct impression that "Ingsoc" (English Socialism) took over because the "masses" didn't really care, also he comes right out and says that dumbing down the population made control possible. I see the same thing happening here, now.

I don't think the "dumbing down of America" is necessary a plan, the population seems to be doing a great job of it all by themselves.
Besides a government plan could never work this well.
we keep saying that the people don't want big government to take care of them and that they believe in personal responsibility, but it sure doesn't look that way.  I think there's a lot more of "them" out there than we realize.

Who says it's a gummint plan? ? ? ? ?

Not that the gummint hasn't been let in on it though, as much as they need to know. And after Kennedy was shot in Dallas, every president knows they can get to him and get away with it. And with the Warren Commission, even help them get away with it.
