Have been very busy the last month.

SO:  I haven't perused the auction scene to much lately.  But here's one that might keep you entertained over the holiday's.  It's on 12/3 and 12/31.   More accessories than guns, but that's kinda interesting.   Looks like they're auctioning off a gun store.  Lots of boxes of ammo, holsters, grips and other things.

Have fun:  https://www.proxibid.com/asp/AuctionsByCompany.asp?ahid=3156

Here's the auction company's home page if you want to bypass Proxibid.

Didn't catch this till last night.   Hope nobody gets left out on the bidding.  Auction at 7pm ET tonight.

Just one caveat:  The building isn't included, but still how often do you get to bid on a 12 bad range?

The backstop is approximately 2 feet of ground up rubber tires (about 55,000 pounds) which will stop any handgun projectile, along with a number rifles bullets.  The range is equipped with 2 huge air exchanges.  We are currently running (4) 36" air ducts under high velocity to keep the air in the range clean and safe.  The air is filtered through 24 filters and the air running into the range is approximately 99.7% pure to the best of our knowledge.
This unit also features the baffle system which catches bullets and stops ricochets.

Re: Upcoming Auctions - Ian Fleming's Gun
« Reply #82 on: January 29, 2013, 06:18:46 PM »
[I know I've been quiet lately, but just ran across this and had to share.]

ONCE IN A LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY

IAN FLEMING's Ruger MK I is up for auction.

Auction Link:  https://www.proxibid.com/asp/LotDetail.asp?ahid=4840&aid=61333&lid=15455580&rts=/asp/searchadvanced_i.asp%23searchid%3D0%26type%3Dlot%26search%3Druger%2520mk%26sort%3Drelevance%26length%3D25%26start%3D1%26refine%3D%26nc%3D1359503473485#topoflot

You won't get another chance at such a collectible piece, except of course when my Mk I goes up for sale by my estate.  (Actually, whatever Ian's goes for I'll take half for mine.)  (Did I mention the first bid is $3,500 already?)

This auction has a number of unique revolvers, including several Merwin & Hulberts.  It also has about 100 older rifles and:

An 1862-'63 Spanish Howitzer.  (current bid $18,000)

Model 1863 Spanish Mountain Howitzer, with royal cipher of the Queen of Spain. Purportedly purchased from Spain and used by the South, with only five known extant, one in a Detroit Museum, one in a Salt Lake City Museum, one in a Virginia Museum, and only this and one other in private hands.

Also, and look the other way, because this is not the gun you want, there is a High Standard Crusader in .44Mag.  If I had a "collectable" piece in my safe, this is it.    Unfortunately, I need to buy semi-auto, evil Personal Defense Weapons right now.  This beauty may have to wait.

MY Crusader went for $800.  With fees and shipping and FFL that's almost $1,000.    Much too much for me for a safe queen.

The Howitzer didn't fair too well.  Only $18,500.  With auction fee that pushes it near $22,000.  I assume buyer will pick up at auction site.

Oh, and Ian Fleming's MK I ?    Went for $6,250.

Okay, my Mk I doesn't belong to anyone famous (except in my own mind), but still.  Someone is willing to pay over six grand for a MK I.

Another big regional auction:   For those not following these auctions typically average a minimum of $1,000 per lot.  Many of the lots have 2 or more guns, but don't let that frighten you.  Would you pay $300 for a Remington 700?  Buy four at $1,200, sell the other three and you might even come out ahead.

Unique items.  TWO Springfield 1903's with consecutive s/n's.  Buy one or both.
http://www.rockislandauction.com/viewitem/aid/1020/lid/689
http://www.rockislandauction.com/viewitem/aid/1020/lid/723

Most expensive item:  Winchester 1866 factory engraved lever action in .44, ~$15-30K

Cheapest item:  3 old model telephones, $200-400
http://www.rockislandauction.com/viewitem/aid/1020/lid/464

And for you 1911 guys how about a one with three 16" barrels?  This lot has 7 1911s.  4 in.45 and 3 in 9mm.

So if the RIA auction is a little rich for your blood and if you're  Ruger fan, check out this auction

https://www.proxibid.com/asp/catalog.asp?aid=62016

Over 350 lots of individual guns.  Over half of which are Rugers.  A couple dozen Mk I and II pistols.  Plenty of 10/22s.  A few center fire rifles and dozens of Ruger SA (Blackhawk and Single Six) revolvers.

A few other odds and ends, such as a Postal Meter M1 Carbine (lot # 165 - couldn't get the image to stick)

Here's a good auction coming up this weekend.  And it's in Montrose, GA  for my local buds who want to go see a live auction.

(I've sworn them off myself after "winning" another 7x57.)

Over 900 firearms  (more than some gun shows).   I counted close to 200 revolvers and 200 semi-autos.   Many bolt action rifles and plenty of shotguns.     Most expensive items appears to be a Marlin 1893 lever action in 38-55.

And this weekend's auction.  Worth a look see.

Reinhardt Auctions in Palisade, MN

https://www.proxibid.com/asp/Catalog.asp?aid=63380

About 300 guns.  Most under $1,000 and many in the $500 range.  Most interesting one, to me, is a Savage 99.  Always thought they were neat rifles.   This is a 99 in .300 Savage.  It has what appears to be a tang rear sight, but there is also the regular one mid-action.   There also is an extra barrel, but no explanation of what it is.

https://www.proxibid.com/asp/LotDetail.asp?ahid=330&aid=63380&lid=16013087&title=Savage-99-TD-300-Sav.-Lever-Rifle-327692-w-410-bbl.-80-blue-solid-wood-receiver-has-been-dri

I don't need it.  I don't need it.  But there's another early model Ruger M77, tang safety, in 7x57,  It'll probably go for $500 (plus fees and shipping).   My M77 is arriving today at the FFL.  Don't need another one. Don't need another one.

Please feel free to bid on this one and save me from my adcition.

https://www.proxibid.com/asp/LotDetail.asp?ahid=330&aid=63380&lid=16013240&title=Ruger-M77-7x57-Bolt-70-41966-w-Bushnell-3-9-scope-exc-blue-and-exc-finished-stock

Don't need another one. Don't need another one.

Don't need another one. Don't need another one.

Don't need another one. Don't need another one.
