M44s are getting hard to find. I have a 91/59 that's a real flame thrower at dusk. It always draws a crowd.

Very true. And they work. Take your average inner city neighborhood watch, pass these out with the bake sale money, and watch your gang problem go away (one way or the other). ;)

The M44 was the Carbine WITH a bayonet.
What was the earlier carbine without a bayo ?  Was it the M41 ?
If I recall it was basically a standard M-N cut down.

M38

I had one but I sold it. I also regret cutting down an M44 now knowing what they are going for although it makes a good scout rifle with 17" barrel.
