If I still rode, a chest rig like that is what I'd consider as well. It's easy for a belt carried gun to become exposed by the wind, and in some states that is a no-no (not a problem in GA).
"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

You're welcome. Just for reference, if you compare the one I posted to the previous picture, the bottom of the grip would likely be just above the clip on the belly strap of the backpack. I hope you find what you're looking for.

Do a search for chest holster rigs.   Kenia, simply rugged, guide  gear about cover all price points materials and variations.  Personally if I was hiking the lighter weight the better. I think the world of simply rugged but the kenia looks very intetesting.

I have been pondering this one and going round and round.  No advice from me to muddy the waters, but a question:. What are the concealment issues, benefits, and concerns with each of your options?
