Counter demands (bills we can support)

If you are buying a house. You give a low bid the current owner counters with a high number you meet or not in the middle.
Can some one tell me why we are not seeing counter bills submitted by the "friendly" politicians.
We see Ban bump stocks but no restructure of NFA.
We see raise the Fees on NFA transfers but no classification of suppressors as a safety device
We see Magazine capacity restrictions but no removing of mufflers from cars (if suppressors are not needed on fire arms why are mufflers needed on cars)
Why is it that we must always fight against and not promote?
There is a 10 minute rant my lunch is complete.
I do not want to loose anything but there is nothing to bargain with except more loss. I often hear the procurement people at work talk about them not having leverage or loosing leverage because X. I realize that we do not have any leverage.

I'm with you nosimij.
I've said for years we should be bargaining from a position of (for starters):
Repeal 1934 NFA
Repeal 1938 FFA
Repeal 1968 GCA
Repeal 1972 creation of ATF
Repeal 1990 CCA
Repeal 1994 BHCVPA & VCCLEA
Repeal 1997 NICBC

Of all the things I want, I think the one thing we could actually win is removi g the Hughes ammendment.(I e reopen the machine gun registry) that would actually bring prices in line with market not supply and demand.
