Six Flags is in the southern tip of Cobb County (Marietta) though every one says it’s in Atlanta. Locally it’s called some derogatory names, some having to do with AL. It sits on the Chattahoochee river, boundary with Fulton County (Atlanta).
Six Flags is quick to point out that, while the initial altercation did start in the park, their security quickly moved to disburse the crowd and escort them off property. The shooting occurred outside the park.
6F also owns Whitewater which is much closer to me.
Interestingly all 3 sons worked at both theme parks at one time or another. We refer to it as “they did time there.” Oldest played in the Dixieland band. Middle was a street entertainer. During Halloween he was Dr. Riga Mortis. Youngest headlined a variety show 3 times a day and had his own private dressing room. The stories of poor management would be funny if they weren’t so sad. The Variety show theater building collapsed one night, when the park was closed, thankfully. Poorly built and not maintained. The show was licensed through Dick Clark Enterprises and by contract they had to retain and pay the performers for the duration of the contract, about 4 more months. Also by contract they could not make the performers do any other work. So my son got paid to report to employee break room for 10 hours a day, 4 days a week and do nothing. He talked management into allowing him to assist other shows technically just to have something to do.
But back to large gatherings of young people. Stay away.
