Government Upgrades M4 A-1 Carbine

It all sounds good. But if they actually think they're going to get a guaranteed gun that shoots under MOA, (5" groups at 600 yards guaranteed), they're going to be paying a hell of a lot more than $642.00 a gun. They better give Les Baer a call........ And get out their checkbooks.

I think it's a mistake replacing all M16s with M4A1s no matter how good they are. M16s are a better solution to most problems and the longer barrel makes the most of the anemic ammo.

Ain't gonna happen. it's just an idea, (stupid idea) that some bureaucrat came up with.

Actually, from experience, sometimes winning government contracts is a very unlucky thing.   The companies that make money only do so in the long run with add-ons, modifications and followup contracts.  I don't think initial contracts by themselves ever pan out.
