I don't get it.  Why is this not happening?  We all know that the bills are going to pass wither we like them or not; Why not get something for it?

It can still be done.  The next big "feel good" bill that comes up that you just know is going to pass, stick in a pro-gun amendment.

Gay marriage - No tax stamp for silencers.
Obama care - Repeal of Gun control law of 68.
TRRP - Make out of state handgun sales legal nation wide and have all surplus firearms legal for importation.
So on and so on.

We should have had someone in the House and Senate pushing this stuff decades ago.  Why is this not happening?

Either they haven't thought of it or...they really don't love us!
Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom.
It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves.
-William Pitt, British Prime-Minister (1759-1806)

This is exactly how we were able to get concealed carry on national parks.  They stuck it to a bill that POSUS wouldn't veto!

Who are the guys who get the NRA's A rating?  Those are the ones we should approach.

Yes "we" do sometimes, but the main reason conservatives don't do this is it goes against our beliefs.  Laws should be passed straight up and for what they are.  We don't like to sneak around to get things done.

Lot's of generalizations, but I think that's the essence of it.
