For All The Savage Model 12-FT/R Shooters Out There
« on: March 15, 2017, 12:43:58 PM »
One of the biggest issues with the Savage Model 12-FT/R is finding a case to fit it, because of it's very long, (30"), barrel. I have finally stumbled on a beautiful case that fits the gun and scope beautifully! I picked it up at Cabela's, and the best part is it's on sale for just $55.99.

http://www.cabelas.com/product/CABELAS-ELITE-SHOTGUN-CASE/2421109.uts?searchPath=%2Fbrowse.cmd%3FcategoryId%3D734095080%26CQ_search%3Dcabela%252527s%2Bshotgun%2Bcases

This case is beautifully padded, and the long 30" barrel fits with room to spare. This is actually a shotgun case. But it has enough room height wise to fit the rifle along with my Bushnell Elite 5-15X, 40 MM Scope. You'll have to excuse the crappy phone pics, but you can see just how well the gun fits into this case. Along with how much room there is on the top, bottom, and ends. The gun fits extremely well into this case. The padding around the entire inside of the case is really nice and thick. There are also several zippered compartments around the outside of this case, to store ammo and various other gear. It has both carrying handles that Velcro together, as well as a long carrying strap. For anyone who owns and shoots a Savage Model 12-FT/R, this is a nice case for it, without spending a fortune on one.

You really got lucky Bill to find a shotgun case with room enough for the scope. There aren't any reviews yet at Cabela's so you could write the first one if you want to. I think I'd tell people on there that it fits your rifle and scope.

I didn't think of that, thanks. I just submitted a review. It is very difficult to find nice affordable cases that will fit long barreled F-Class rifles, unless you go the custom route. And those can cost a fortune. I doubt you could find one this nice at this reasonable of a price.
