CHICAGO (AP) — Three men arrested earlier this week when police raided a Chicago apartment were being held Saturday on terrorism conspiracy charges, accused of trying to make Molotov cocktails ahead of the NATO summit.

Their attorney, Sarah Gelsomino, said the men are "absolutely in shock and have no idea where these charges are coming from."

They were scheduled to be in court later Saturday for a bond hearing on charges of conspiracy to commit terrorism, possession of an explosive or incendiary device and providing material support for terrorism.

Six others arrested Wednesday in the South Side raid were released Friday without being charged.

Among the items seized by federal authorities was beer-making equipment, Gelsomino said.

Chicago police Lt. Kenneth Stoppa declined to elaborate on the case beyond confirming the charges against the three who were still in custody

Damn who hasnt got that shit, its called a lighter, gas bottle - (jerry can) and a computer LOL

All this carry on BS resulting from 911, Bali Bombings is a fecken joke.
I still say and will continue to say that those two events was the best thing ever for socialist govts around the world to pass more laws imposing upon the freedoms of their citizens. Powers to arrest and detain with out charge, powers of search with out warrant, ambiguos bs laws about possession of terrorist "like" equipment, and howmany BS govmental jobs have been created all in the name of terrorist prevention and exactly howmany actual terrorists have they caught.
The jails must be simply overflowing with the influx of terrorists.

More like they are they are preparing for the growing civil disobedience of people fed up with their continuing nanny state politics.

But there is a guy, who was raised a Muslim, mentored by a pornographer who was a member of CPUSA, traveled to Pakistan (hot bed of terrorist indoctrination) at a time when such travel was prohibited for US citizens, returned to the US and openly consorted with anti American, socialist terrorists, racketeers, and corrupt politicians.
Is he arrested for "aiding terrorism ?
Is he on the watch list ?
NOPE.
He's on the Democratic ballot for President.

"More like they are they are preparing for the growing civil disobedience"

Nope, civil disobedience by definition is basically legal.
It's "civil".
It's civil DISORDER that serves their purpose, and if they can't generate enough with "Fast and Furious" or "Trayvon Martin" why can't they fake some with some home brewer.
It goes to the nature of the conflict and is written between the lines of several of George Soros' books.
Communism is nonviolent, it is the point where the whole world has adopted socialism and the "state" fades away.
Achieving socialism requires forcing the reluctant, and killing those who resist.
But a pretext is needed to start it.
They need some one to burn the Reichstag to justify implementing their policies.

What was buried was also the fact that these "domestic terrorists", and beer manufacturers were also OWS participants that are illustrious liberal POTUS, and members of Congress have supported.

Occupy Wall Street is now akin to a domestic terrorist group....and It's OK with DOJ..... They also released a vid and posted it on YouTube.

Vid at link.

STRONG LANGUAGE WARNING!

Three of the individuals arrested in the Wednesday apartment raid of an Occupy Chicago member were charged last night for conspiracy to commit terrorism.
The suspects, Brian Church, 20, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; Jared Chase, 24, of Keene, N.H.; and Brent Vincent Betterly, 24 were detained for approximately 48 hours before finally being charged around 2 am this morning.

The suspects are apparently the same three individuals who published the recent viral video on YouTube of what they claimed was police harassment outside of Chicago Police Department.
Coincidentally two of these suspects appear to have been at the first violent action of the NATO week protests on Tuesday night.

These individuals spoke out and taunted the police in that march through the south side of Chicago, dubbed the “F*ck the Police” march. After the police refused to take the bate of protesters torment and ridicule, the protesters declared they would “continue on their peaceful way.” However video obtained exclusively by Breitbart.com shows the behavior of the apparent suspects and their cohorts was nothing remotely resembling a peaceful nature.

TW, I left that out because that wasn't what they were busted for, even though they should have had their skulls cracked.
While they are libertarian (at least the one from Keene ) scumbags, being arrested as a terrorist for making home brew is BS.

PDATED 05/18/12 1:24 p.m.

CHICAGO (CBS) — Three anti-NATO protesters were planning to attack police stations, Mayor Emanuel’s home and President Obama’s campaign headquarters with Molotov cocktails during the NATO Summit, police sources said on Saturday.

The three, who have been charged with possessing explosives to commit terrorist acts, were witnessed by undercover police investigators making the fire bombs inside an apartment in Bridgeport, authorities say. They have been under surveillance for several days and arrested on Wednesday.

Lawyers for Brian Church, 20, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; Jared Chase, 24, of Keene, New Hampshire; and Brent Vincent Betterly, 24, of Oakland Park, Fla., insist the only thing inside that apartment was beer-making equipment.

Authorities said four completed Molotov cocktails were seized by police along with other weapons and instructions on how to make pipe bombs.

I'm sure the beer just helped pass the time during their prep.
