3 DDD

Well, I got my 3D printer, and I will say right here that Defense Distributed sucks.

Creality Ender 3 Pro however is great   :D
I've printed all the pre loaded models, and now I'm trying to learn the slicing process (Turning the picture into code)
Biggest challenge is keeping the F'ing thing stuck to the print plate  >:(
My reading makes me think that's the main point of aggravation, and after spraying an adhesive like Aqua Net hair spray the rest of it is adjusted through temp and speed settings .
It's all "Tribal knowledge", learn by fixing what Fed up last time.    ;D
Kind of like machining but quieter and nothing to clamp to .   ;D

I've had mine a week and tonight I'll be printing a Luger Frame. This will be all plastic.
A 1:1 scale model.
I have a lower program to set up, but there are only 24 hours in the day  .
I got a program for a 10/22 receiver, but guess what ?
Buying all aftermarket parts to finish building it would cost just about twice what it would cost to just BUY one.   ;D
Think of it this way, no aftermarket outfit wants to advertise, "Not as good as factory, but it's cheap and usually works".
So Volquartson gets $140 for a trigger assembly for a $200 rifle.

I've been having the most fun in YEARS !   ;D

I meant to add that all the Lower's I've seen are made of  basic PLA -ABS.
PLA is supposed to print better.
That's what I'm using now.
Go for it TAB, Amazon, $300  for Ender Pro 3 and a roll of Filament

I'm looking for ANY fully functioning models I can find .
So far I've got a Luger and I think , an MP 40, but I haven't looked at that file yet.
I'm not sure, but I think I can convert any CAD file to the STL that I need , so any machine program for a part could be duplicated in plastic .
All I need now is  programs .  Maybe some of the semi auto replica guys will help me out.    ;D
Where the heck can I find programs for stuff like Mauser C 96,  ?    ;D

I spent a lot of years making what I was paid to.
Nuke parts, medical devices, or putting A-holes in animal crackers.
Parts was parts.
Now I'm making what I want.   ;D
