Oh my goodness... did I ever make a mistake last night! I thought it would be a good idea to find out how the various networks were covering the NRA news conference - gathering intel to help in conversations or correspondence. I found Piers Morgan on CNN and Lawrence O'Donnell on MSNBC.
Morgan and his panel were blathering on about "Why do you need..." and "Hunters have no use for...". They were in a tailspin over "how rapidly semi-automatics can fire and thus only good for slaughtering rooms full of innocents". I thought my head was going to explode. My wife saw how red in the face I was and asked if I was OK. John Lott, author of More Guns, Less Crime, was a participating audience member. Talk about being outnumbered... they piled on him like stink on sh!t. I was disappointed, though, in how ineffective he was in responding to some of their remarks - I expected more assertive responses.
O'Donnell was performing a monologue directly attacking Wayne LaPierre in the most shocking manner I've ever seen. You could almost see the spit spewing from his mouth as he thundered words like "vile", "disgusting", and "complicit" through clinched teeth. He wanted his audience to believe that LaPierre was actually the Devil on earth and regularly eats young children and puppies for breakfast. Unbelievable behavior from O'Donnell... I actually started to feel nauseous listening to his viciousness.
Bottom line is this... these people are more dangerous than rabid dogs. They're attacking anything and everything even remotely associated with guns, shooters, or the shooting sports. This is a sincere warning: if you have HBP or a heart condition you should consider avoiding these folks. Watching their near-convulsive theatrics and listening to their lies can be dangerous to your health.
