There are any number of Sigs that allow cocked and locked with the hammer down, first shot being double action, followups in single action. That would be any model DA/SA with the decocker. My P2022 does that, I think the 226, 229, maybe 220.

The P220 also comes SAO- no decocker and I think that's cocked and locked with a thumb safety. BUT that's .45.  I'm not sure if the 9mm comes in that configuration.

Sig has their DAK models which are DAO.  They don't have any cocked and locked  models unless you buy one of their 1911s but I don't think they have any in 9mm.  Not absoulutly positive about no 9s in their 1911s.

I think the Sig 210's allowed for cocked and locked carry, but they're real pricey

OK thanks guys, I should have been more specific. I was hoping for something like a 226.

The X5 series is a 226-ish SAO with a thumb safety, but run $1200+

So it's a standard 226 with the addition of a thumb safety?

Is carrying it with the safety off an option (same as a 226) or is it an ALL THE TIME  it is loaded safety?

(I like the ideas of external safety's and this interesting to me.)

* * * EDIT - did some more reading they call it a SINGLE ACTION trigger- so I'll guess its an always on safety when loaded .... sort of a 1911'esque SIG P226

The X series Sigs also have longer barrels (5 in vice 4.25) and teh beavertail like the Elites.

I choose the Sig P229 because it could be carried with one in the chamber with the hammer down (decocked). Gives me 13. First shot is DA other are SA. No safety needed.

I previously carried a S&W .357 revolver. This is the same, except twice the rounds before reload.
Firearm of choice: Sig P229 .40S&W
Carry concealed is by choice.
