The main thing to keep in perspective with all of these "podcasts" and gun programs, is you are getting one mans opinion. I'm not saying it isn't valuable. Some of these guys have a lot of experience, and shoot a lot of guns. Many of them make their living doing it. But just remember it's their opinion. They are still injecting personal preference into what they say, and or recommend.
And you also don't know what, if any financial ties they have to their recommendations. When these guys get a big viewership, gun manufacturers like to use them to showcase their products. And rightfully so. It's very cheap and effective advertising. Did you ever read about a car in Motor Trend they didn't like? And so a lot of this becomes Ford, Chevy, Dodge car magazine stuff. So take it all with a grain of salt. Be informed, but buy what you like, and don't be swayed by someone else's opinion..... Unless you want to be.
Also, a lot of these guys just like to hear themselves talk. "Nut N' Fancy" comes to mind. I like the guy, and he is quite knowledgeable. But my God, this guy could make a 45 minute video on a couple of sling swivels. Actually, I like guys who just shoot the guns without injecting their opinions into it either way. Hickok .45 and Big Daddy Hoffman 1911 come to mind. They put a lot downrange with their weapons, and if issues arise, you'll see them just as if you were at the range with them when they happened. To me that is far more valuable than listening to some guy babble on for 25 minutes with a gun sitting on the table in front of him. While he tells you what he thinks of it.
