Well that's a shame.  I just came back across this thread I've been having to take care of a family member for a while and missed it.

Are you selling your CTME mags?  They oughta be good trade material at a gun show.

I really like my PSA Gen II AR10.  Got everything as parts when they introduced Gen III they were selling off the lowers and uppers cheap. The entire completed was under $500.  It shoots well.

I was using both g3 and ctme mags with no success. Rollers were out of spec and the bolt was trash. I have an old dpms oracle that’s been sitting in my safe for a while. It’s a 16 inch gun with no sights. Probably going to buy a new upper and go all in on it.

That sounds like a plan.  Are you sticking with 16" or taking it out to 18" or so?

I’m going to stick with 16, but I’d like to get 20 inch in the future.

I like the 20" option.  It's been a bit.  Have you gotten anywhere on the project?

So far all I’ve done is buy a new 4-12x40mm vortex scope diamondback scope. Finally put on a muzzle brake and new heavy buffer. I’m waiting to hit the range but between work and training Im on hold for now. Hopefully by the new year I’ll have an update

Pics or it didn't happen.  ;D  Just kidding, but if it's finished I'd like to see. My rifles are works in progress, but if I can quit sleeping for 1-2 days at a time, I should be able to finish them before I start riding my ATV in the spring. Then I'll be busy again until after Labor Day.

One thing I don't understand is why Brownell's made the pinned and welded 12.7' barrel as long as they did. It could be 1/2" shorter and still be over 16" long. If I knew someone with a metal lathe, I might just have them take the end of the flash suppressor off making it 6 prongs instead of a closed end. I can't remember what company it was, but someone takes Colt's and maybe other ARs, and turns down the barrels and re-threads them so the new flash suppressor goes on farther and the 16.1" barrel looks shorter than it really is. Whoa, I found myself adrift again.
