Damn you Michael Bane!
On the way home I picked up FOUR — count 'em! — new guns...well. one old gun and three very very new guns...so new they're not cataloged by any of the companies. Here's a little hint...one of the boxes was from Ruger...I opened the box, then called Ruger and said one world...SOLD!
The other stuff is just as cool...the earliest embargo date on at least one of the guns is 4 January — we'll have DRTV video and full details as soon as we can tell you.

Single action revolver, per blog.

S O L D TOO
-
Could one of these be the new Ruger 180 ACP? Saw it on realguns. com
-
I'll pass. rugers "new gun" track record is bad to say the least.
-
That's foolish TAB, they had to recall 2 models out of how many models they have released over 50+ years ?
I'd say that's pretty darn good.
-
GEESH! Comments on the blog a little negative aren't they?!? From what I know, nearly all the problems Ruger's had in the past have been with pistols. Not a bad record with Revolvers. Not stating the gospel! Just what I remember.
There are enough binky caliber guns in the world... 180 ACP? What do you do with THAT?!? Compete in airsoft? Then again... Is it .180, or 180. ???

BM Make sure you read the article ;D

Got to agree with you about Ruger quality, in almost 60 of manufacturing they have retro fitted the transfer bar safety.
in 25 (?) years of manufacturing Semi auto pistols they have had issues with 2 pistols. Both in the first 6 months of production.
That's nothing more than debugging the system.
-
There were no fatalities at point blank range, or bleeding, or... bone fractures, however, there was clear evidence of agitation and aggravation which may have led to ulcers and a possible need for surgery further down the line. By then, under a new federally managed national health care program, surely they would all die.
Real funny.

so how many did they have this year? when it comes to new mechanical things, I am much more intrested in what they are doing now rather then what they did in the past.

OK. If it's real... I WANT ONE! Don't know why... But for an even hundred bucks (MSRP's a buck thirty). WHY NOT?
What kind of Kool Aid are they drink'n to believe that thing shoots 1/2" at 100 yards!!!!!? Just seeing that is worth a hundred bucks!

the last 2 years then.

If it were real, you'd have to use a paper clip to pull the trigger!
It'd STILL be fun. But, somebody doesn't know Christmas isn't April first?

That's a BS liberal cop out TAB, "When the sample (YOU PICKED ) shows your wrong change the sample".
Why don't you just man up and admit your wrong ?
Or is it a Sacramento thing ?

I think some one built a 1/2 scale model of the LCP. I've seen Thompson's, Lugar's and other guns in the same size range

lets see in the last 2 years, ruger has released:
lcp
sr9
lcr
piston ar
(the 10-22 that looks like a ar does not count as its not a new gun)
so out of 4 guns that they have never made before 2 of them got recalled.
would you buy a car where you have a 50/50 chance something like the tranny or motor is going to have to be relaced in the 10k miles? I wouldn't.
-
Actually 50/50 is better than car makers manage, I bought a Focus the 3rd year they made them and it had 2 recalls one for heater cores that could blow up and one for wheels that could fall off. and that was your beloved Ford.

Buy German. Cars, watches, guns, beer. Sal good! ;D

Ruger recall = Ruger looking at a design that might (not HAS) lead to the slight chance of a situation that could happen and issues a recall for the model that not only fixes the "possible" defect...but improves the product in a way that they could have just issued a new model and charged $50-100 more for it (maybe even giving it a name like "PRO" or "-M" or "Enhanced" or "Custom" ).... I'd go for a recall like that any day.... ;D
....and yet Taurus has never had a recall.....does that make their products better?.... :-\

Agreed

On the most recent Podcast Bane said there are two new Ruger guns.... a single action and a semi auto
-
I heard four!
Four Rugers, three at the house and one coming (a Prototype)
My guess is that the Single Action is a .327 caliber.

That makes sense since His Sweetie shoots .32's in CAS
-
I am going to guess that Ruger took somebody else's idea and made it "better" ;) With that in mind I am going to guess a full size single action 22LR that holds 12 rounds like USFA released earlier this year. I really find it hard to believe that more than a few people at a SASS event would get excited about a .32 caliber when the loads they are shooting are glorified gallery rounds anyways.
-
.327 is supposed to have more oomph.
-
will a 32 h+r fit into a 327 mag? ( I'm guessing yes)

A .327 Fed Mag can also shoot .32 H&R, .32 S&W and .32 S&W Long cartridges. It's all the same bullet.

.180 Ruger.... when a .22 just tears up the target too bad....... :o That Has GOT to be a joke.......
-
On the most recent Podcast Bane said there are two new Ruger guns.... a single action and a semi auto
....but he didn't designate whether the single-action is a revolver or semi-auto....leaves a lot of room for interpretation....
I'm hoping at least one of the guns is a sub-compact version of the SR-9...or a single-stack 9mm like the LCP....and that the other may be a "tacticool" 9mm carbine....I miss the PC9.... :'(

199% Joke. ;D
Click the link and read the article. While a BS article on a fictitous gun, it's still very funny.

SR1911?

SR1911?
Bane said he talked to Ruger a little while back and definitively said there was no 1911 in the works
-
Bane said he talked to Ruger a little while back and definitively said there was no 1911 in the works
On the pod cast he quoted them as saying " You've been in our factory, did you SEE any 1911 production ?"
-
I'd like to see a single action in .327 Federal Magnum. I equate the .327 to a modern .32-20. Produce it in the smaller Blackhawk frame, and I thuink you would have a winner.
Personally I think Ruger would make a killing on a 1911. Very little design and deveopement cost. A lot of people wou
ld buy them simply because it is a 1911 and says Rger on it.
I'd also like to see a .308 battle rifle. They never released in any great numbers the XGI supposedly because of accuracy problems. I talked to a guy a few years back who claimed to have been at Ruger and saw many XGI recievers that he said Ruger never destroyed and kept in storage. He claimed Ruger was working on the accuracy issue and was hoping to get them on the market. I have no way of knowing if what he told me was true or not, or if it was just hopeful, wishful thinking. The idea of a blued steel and walnut .308 battle rifle from Ruger would get me looking hard at it.
-
Really hope the rumors are true and the prototype they will show will be a shotgun suitable for home defense/duty issue.
-
Sturm, Ruger & Co., Inc. (NYSE: RGR) is proud to announce two more Ruger® revolvers chambered in the impressive .327 Federal Magnum caliber. The Ruger New Model Blackhawk® and the Ruger GP100® will now benefit from the flat-shooting, high-velocity performance of the .327 Federal Magnum cartridge.

-
so basicly we got no new guns... just 1 revamp gun and guns offered in a "new" chambering... stop the presses, this is news.
-
Besides the two wheel guns, there is a new SR9 Compact holding 10 rds of 9mm. The GP100 is a 7 shooter and Blackhawk holds 8 rounds. I agree I would have prefered a Single Six in .327 Fed or a smaller Blackhawk with 6 rds. However, I will look at the new Blackhawk when I can for a hunting piece and at 48oz shouldn't have any recoil. Now Bane mentioned 4 new guns, will have to look for the other.

NRA's American Rifleman (Official) Ruger announced 3 new guns today: the Blackhawk and GP100 in .327 Fed. Mag. and the SR9 Compact in 9mm.

Ok..... NOW I want an LCR!!! ;D (I won't buy a 38 spl only for defense when I can get the same gun in .357 Mag.... I can shoot all the .38 Spl I want in my .357 Mag revolvers.)
But it will probably sting a little to shoot it.....
-
This may not be exactly new, but it's definitely going on the list.
