My rant on the Gulf of Mexico - our president & BP: We the people are being taken for a ride by both sides of this play act. BP gave Obama one of his biggest campaign contributions during the election & now he wants to put them out of business? Yea...Right! BP does not want help from anyone who offers biodegradable and environmentally friendly methods to clean up the oil and keep all volunteers away, only BP employees for clean-up. The government is acting the same way. Did anyone view Huckaby on Fox News last night? People with clean-up technology that is years old for cleaning spills but BP and the government will have no part of it. BP watches from a mile above the ocean floor and only sees the oil cloud grow larger by the day. Obama goes golfing, has a snow cone and speaks about how two faced and forked tongue large corporation C.E.Os can be (something about a pot and a kettle comes to mind). This whole mess is starting to look like neither side wants to clean up the mess and both sides intend to clean up at the bank.
Don't forget that every heavy weight contributor to Obama's campaign from ACORN to SEIU to the United Auto Workers Union has been on his payback list and we have seen him pay them back with our money, I believe this whole debacle will in months to come turn clear and we will see how these people sought to ruin our planet, economy, our patriotic spirit and willingness to fight back.
Obama and crew are quickly overwhelming this country and its ability to respond to natural disasters what will be next...terrorist attacks? How about financial speed bumps where they make a bank holiday and close down the banks ( in fear that the public will withdraw too much money). I do not believe BP blew up their rig but I do believe Rahm Emanuel who said a good crisis should never be left to go to waste. It is an opportunity to do things you couldn't normally do. Watch both hands people, watch what both hands are doing, they talk fast and prey on our patriotism, our love of God and love of nature. They are opportunistic vultures only thinking of what and how they can gain for themselves while everyone else attempts to tread water.

"Never let a good crisis go to waste." Rahm Emmanuel
We are seeing this on a daily basis as our rights are being stripped away, and still the country sleeps.
Observed by Crusader who has more than a few tears in his eyes. :'( :'( :'(

For now comes the tears, shock and awe but the tears will dry and our eyes will be wide open. Woe to those who are standing on the wrong side of the isle.

Lou, I don't know where you are getting your information, probably MSM, but this from your 1st post is not true,
"BP does not want help from anyone who offers biodegradable and environmentally friendly methods to clean up the oil and keep all volunteers away, only BP employees for clean-up."
BP was hiring shrimp fisherman to help with clean up from day one and it was the Coast Guard who vetoed "biodegradable and environmentally friendly methods to clean up the oil ".
I will continue to say it, this would not be a problem if the DEMS had not stopped them from drilling on shore.

I have been approached by several companies about jobs in the gulf. none of them have been BP. they just send them a bill. if you want to help clean-up etc.. nobody is stopping you. I was approached while I was at sea so could not make it before the spots were filled, but they still need people I'm sure. just don't trample the dumb arse environmentalists that are getting in the way. (the biggest obstacle in my opinion). you'll notice that most pictures of clean-up crews are pretty slow moving and look bored. believe me, they picked up their pace for the cameras. I've been on oil spill jobs before and it was the most boring thing I have ever done in my life. :P the big job will be engineering a way to stop the flow and repair the well. not going to be easy as the BOP is damaged and they need to get it out of the way. as for the gubment, they don't have a clue to what's going on, nor will they. that goes for the media as well. (damn monkeys) :o

Don't forget the Jones Act. The evil and most despised Bush, suspended it by Executive Order so foreign ships could assist in any way possible after Hurricane Katrina,.....
There are several foreign tankers, that have offered to assist skimming, containment booms, etc,.....but as our wonderful POTUS played golf, and ate snowcones,.....has yet to suspend it.

It's only been 50+ days......
and the gov't is supposed to make Healthcare better????
Please.... >:(

Perhaps the Government won't get 100% into the clean up effort until they feel the crisis is big enough to ensure easier passage of legislation aimed at taking over the oil industry?

Lets see now, Governor of...
Texas-R
Louisiana-R
Florida-R
Mississippi-D ( not as much shoreline and the outflow of the Mississippi river to keep oil away)
Alabama-D (not much shoreline to contaminate)
Now could it be possible that not cleaning up the oil spill is a way to harm the states with a R in the Governors office? I certainly wouldn't put it past this crew from chicago.

Mississippi-
D R There, I fixed it for you.
Haley Barbour is a proud and capable Republican who would, I am certain, take great offense at being likened to a dummycrap.
Gov. Barbour is a principled man with Presidential potential.

Thanks CR, I guess my list was incorrect.

No problem from my end. I just happen to think highly of Gov. Barbour and just couldn't allow such blasphemy to stand LOL.
Offered by Crusader who probably likes Gov. Barbour partly because we share physical characteristics (such as sometimes being mistaken for a Southern version of the Pillsbury Doughboy.)

Hello everyone and hello Tom, I haven't been able to respond until now but today is a good day for it. Has anyone watched and/or dvr'd Glenn Beck? If you want to know why I believe BP is taking us for a ride along with this corrupt administration view this show. By the way, I do not listen nor waste my time watching main (lame) stream media so do not bother peddling that garbage off on me. I work for a small city as a department director. Last week I spoke with my boss about the oil spill, BP and the possibility of the spill coming on to our beach. My boss was a participant on a telephone conference call led by BP who stated clearly that they do not want help in cleaning up the mess on the beach. They were asked by city officials on the call how best to collect and contain the oil deposits when found and BP's response was to leave it alone, call the phone number given in the information and let BP handle the situation.
That is not the usual way things are done. I could give a large crap about BP's protocol, we have the public to consider and their safety. As for me I want that garbage off my BEACH!! It is not my intention to prove to unbelievers about the corrupt actions of this president, BP and the things happening in south america. Maybe in the beginning of this BP was open to help but their attitude has changed and what about that "twenty minute meeting" between Obama and BP, wish I could stop by someone's house and collect 20 Billion dollars without even an arm wrestling match. After he picked up the check, Obama was off to lunch with Biden and out to the golf course. This stinks to the high heavens and again, the only innocents in this are you and me.
If someone wants to still defend BP then my hat is off to you because you are standing alone in my book. If anyone watched Huckabee on Fox News a week ago they saw at least 6 different ways to clean up the oil from the water and the shore. All ways are biodegradable and have government approval or at least utilize completely natural means to perform the task. All people stated that they have called and pleaded with our government and with BP to allow their methods to be used for the clean up and both said no. Can anyone answer as to why they do not want help? As was said once in a movie long ago, "I'd piss on a spark plug if I thought it would work." What the hell! Why not let them help??? Because the same company that was the largest contributor to the Obama campaign is now helping him to fulfill his agenda and destroy the fish industry in the gulf as well as the oil and tourism industry not to forget local workers who make their daily living from all these industries. Obama is giving 2 billion dollars to Petro-Bra in Brazil for deep water oil drilling exploration to drill deeper than Deep Water Horizon but for us ladies and gentlemen you'd better crack out the old peddle moped we're going to need it when gasoline hits eight dollars a gallon.
This person in the White House is destroying the lower half of our country with his 'I don't give a damn' attitude. Enjoy your next 'all you can eat shrimp' at Red Lobster, it may be the last for a long time. :o ;D

Seen any oil yet ?
Actually that was sarcastic, My mother lives in that area so I know where it is. There is about as much chance of oil coming to your beaches as there is of it coming to mine. Got that whole Peninsula thing going on between the West and East coasts.

Last Saturday I flew back from Kalifornistan to Tampa with a layover in Atlanta. As we began our descent into Tampa, I looked out the window of the plane and saw huge swatches of crude not too far off the coast of Dunedin/Tarpon Springs. It appears to me that the stuff is moving southward and that we will probably see it on our beaches here in St. Petersburg. If/when it gets into the loop current, it doesn't take a great deal of imagination to think it could well be a problem for the East Coast of Florida. It's a mess. And Odamna hasn't got a clue what he should be doing. A good first step would have been to waive the Jones Act and get the Dutch skimmers in here.

Sorry for the snark, I did not know about any "loop current".
That being the case, even though it could be pulled as far north as the Grand Bank's, wouldn't it also tend to parallel the shore rather than washing up ?

Send this link to the Governors. http://theintelhub.com/ It was a staged event, just like the border problems to enrage the American people so Congress will pass the Cap and Trade and Immigration reform [amnesty]. A BLM Swat team was on the rig two hours before it blew. Go figuire. If you can't or won't tough.

That is asinine.
