Have any of you seen the Short Rifle Stock System for the M1A/M14? http://www.ShortRifles.com (http://www.ShortRifles.com)
Dillon put it on the front page of their August mailing
(http://www.glen-l.com/picboards/Blue Press August 2010.jpg)
Now that's something I'd like to have!!! M14 power and reliability in a REALLY nice package!
-
Talk about a nice....
....naaa....too easy ;)
-
I'd hit that

Aw Come on now Eric, You'd hit a snake if you could grab ahold of it's ears... ;D ;D ;D

Actually, I've had the opportunity to test fire this thing - it's AMAZING! Because the action has been dropped down into the stock (instead of riding ABOVE the stock as in the original M14) it's now directly in line with one's shoulder. Result: less felt recoil than an M4 carbine.
My petite wife fired multiple rapid-fire shots from a standing position, and said the recoil "wasn't noticable."
BTW, inside the August Blue Press there's a pretty interesting write up about it, too.
-
:o Nice rifle! The lady looks real nice too! ;D
-
$1,275 plus an M1A. :o Too rich for me.
-
I know its been a while folks but this one struck a cord. For the performance to price ratio, Troy Industry's modular system(MSRP under$1k) is a better buy. Not to mention the lower bore axis allows for much faster rates of accurate fire, co-witness B.U.S. sights with reddots, along with a better platform to transfer from Right-to-Left shoulder without eating hot brass and with the collapsed stock is a good CQB/Vehicle gun. Just my 2cents.

We are talking about the rifle right. I think there was one in the picture.

There is. It's that greenish thing that is blocking the view.
-
THAT's what that green thing is! Kept trying to figure out what was in the way....

Cabela's doesn't sell the Bulldog 762; the only source for it right now is www.ShortRifles.com (http://www.ShortRifles.com)
It's odd that so many people claim to have seen or even touched the Bulldog 762 at a gun show or store somewhere (and then make unfortunate comments about it) since it's not being sold or even displayed anywhere else than at ShortRifles.com.
I have met Sgt Cabral and even fired the Bulldog on several ocaissions, by the way. Weight is LESS than the standard M14/M1A; balance is phenominal - moves from carry to firing position in less than a heartbeat; effective range remains at 600 yds. for the short version and 1000+ yds for the standard barrel.
A VERY serious tactical rifle!

Were you talking about somewhere other than this form, just curious? I didn't see anyone here say anything about handling one or any mention of Cabela's. It looks like a good idea but I'm a lefty so unless they made a reversed version it would do me know good.

Already covered . . . . .

Sorry, I posted the Cabela's comment in the wrong thread -
I don't know about a lefty version, but Sgt. Cabral is a hell of an armorer; I'll bet if you contacted him through his website he might have a solution for you.
-
I read the Blue Press write up, it sounds like the real deal. I'd be interested in a lefty version but would have to sell a couple things to fund it.
-
$2000-2500 for a major caliber battle rifle that handles on par with an M4, at a similar pricepoint as any piston AR or nextgen 556 MBR???
It is a solution, if true.
I had been waiting for someone to make an ergonomic FAL, but this may work too.
Is the display stand included for that price?
(all roads lead to the corner...)
-
I swear sometimes I sympathize with Bane. Maybe its just me, but after playing with P90S's, AR platforms and everyone favorite FAL I still snap in with my synthetic stocked M1A. Everyone complains the ergo's are from a bygone era and I will be the last to argue a speed advantage but at the end of the day I shoot darned well with an old tired stock design.
