gives a new meaning to 'crawling out of the bottle' ;D
though I'm not sure what that means yet.... I brewed some hard cider this trip, mmmmmhmhh. yummy. hard sparkling cider. pours out like a soda or champagne... bubbly and good. not too sweet, and definitely smooth. yum, yum, yum.
made about 30 liters, and have about 8 left. saving those for Christmas with the family, or just the wife, we'll see. ;D

At first glance, that is too cute for words. Then, on second glance: That kitten's eyes are promising a slow and painful death for someone. ;D

alton brown has a recipe for ginger ale. ( I'm sure you can find it on the food network site) that is killer.

have been looking online on how to malt barley and such. all I really need now is hops. can buy hops pellets or order rhizomes to grow my own. not sure how well that will go over with customs though. ;D BEER!!!!!

p.s. Ginger ale may be my next experiment when I return home next trip (or maybe on the ship :D )

hops would be my problem, but for beer. ginger ale would be in the green vessel I posted earlier. and yes, I would try in a 2 liter bottle first. (that's what I did with the cider) already have a bubbler set up for both the vessel and the bottle. now I need caps for beer bottles. (ginger ale I would bottle in soda bottles). heck, I got me a new hobby! shoot guns, brew ... stuff.... sweet!

after the 1st few days, if you open it up, then keep it cold, you are fine.

If you're looking for a good N/A version try ginger beer. I'm not sure if its available outside Florida, but its worth a look. Its popular in the Islands and might be in the international foods section of a decent supermarket or specialty shop. Anyway, its about ten times more gingery than ginger ale. Its actually spicy to the point of being hot. It tastes darn good over ice and makes a really interesting mixer. As I said, its almost pepper hot with the amount of ginger in it, and is a nice change from soda. Check it out if you get a chance.

I love ginger beer but it's really hard to find. They used to have it at a deli near here but they quit selling it.

Vernors was my favorite ginger ale as a kid growing up in MI. I have a case coming over the weekend, an office associate at the shop is going to Pittsburgh for the holidays.
