In a 7 to 0 decision, the court Thursday said an appellate court erred in taking Emanuel off the ballot earlier in the week.

Remember, just like Frank Lautenburg in NJ, he's a democrat; and when you're a democrat, it's different.

Is there any other kind of pol in Illinois? I mean they had to import Gary Coleman sorry, Alan Keyes to run against BO for Senate (yeah, yeah I'm a bad person ;D). It seems to me the only party in that state is The Incumbent Party. The only reason its the Dems rather than the GOP is that they sold out first. Run against that party and you aren't running against an ideology, but the largest local industry. Its the economy stupid, and the incumbents control it, complete with a goon squad. I am loathe to reccomend Indiana to anyone, but if I had to live in that frozen neck of the woods? I'd be looking hard at moving east, where the the only requirements for a CCW seem to be the ability to write a $25 check and being at least as tall as this sign. As it should be. ;)

Remember, just like Frank Lautenburg in NJ, Charlie Rangel, Cris "Countrywide" Dodd, and Hillary Clinton he's a democrat; and when you're a democrat, it's different.

Because we are, as the dems keep reminding us, a nation of laws.  I just threw up in my mouth a little.

Look on the bright side. If he's mayor, he's stuck in Chicago. If he was DQd he'd be running for Burris' Senate seat where he would be a danger to all of us. Sorry WTR, but you guys are on your own here. ;D

I wonder if the judges gave Rahm a receipt for the payment?

How can you be both  "Land of Lincoln" and Democratic Machine?

Because Boss Tweed stayed in NY and Michael Curley stayed in Boston .

Back when TR was getting started in NY state Politics one of the city politicians would sit in the lobby of one of the then famous hotels one day a week with an open satchel beside his chair. Any one who wanted anything would walk by and drop an envelope of cash into the satchel.
I forget the names, or party affiliation, (probably Dems since they have always been the power in NY ) but it was the origin of the term "Bag man".
