Title: Guns for ME but NOT for THEE (CA politicians)

Some California lawmakers want easier access to carry concealed guns

They say their job has become dangerous, citing the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords in Tucson and threats from constituents. Baca objects to singling out elected officials.

The right to carry a concealed weapon in California is mostly reserved for those at risk of violence — jewelers, bail bondsmen and criminal prosecutors among them.

But some legislators say their job has become dangerous too. Despite objections from some law enforcement officials and even gun rights advocates, they want a law that would make it easier for them to tote firearms for protection.

The lawmakers cite the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) in Tucson and threats from constituents in California as cause for permits to carry weapons.

Under the new bill, being an elected state official or a member of Congress would constitute good cause. The officials would, like others, be subject to a background check, and a sheriff or police chief could still turn down the application, Wright noted.

I need to do some research, but my daily reading of the newspapers tells me that it is the citizens and not the rulers that are being assaulted every day.

I may be wrong, but I think I will research that one.

Prove "need" to your sheriff just like everyone else in KA.  I consider living as need.

I have passed over job opportunities in KA because it wasn't worth it even at 2-3x the current pay.

Then RESIGN you useless piece of crap!
Nobody forced or sentenced you to be a right infringing idiot.

Put up with the same stupid process you forced on everyone else in your utopian paradise.

You can always hope for a negligent discharge that plows through a femoral artery.

I'd rather it happen at a anti gun rally and hurt no one, but make a bunch of people wet/soil themselfs.

Just tally up those killed in the Giffords incident that is referenced.  One elected official killed, five peons killed?

No elected officials killed. Being shot in the head is only an inconvenience to a dem, not  fatal .
Just one Appointed Judge, who should have been shot back when he ruled in favor of illegal aliens and against an American property owner, and 4 peons.

Too bad Gifford wasn't carrying the Glock that she supposedly owns. That may have been a surprise to her attacker and I'd love to see her party suck on her gun ownership. Party aside, we don't want people getting shot by lunatics.

No, we want them being shot by duly appointed firing squads carrying out a legal death sentence.
But we DO want them shot.

Had to switch to firing squads, after my last heart trouble I'm supposed to avoid "Hoisting and heavy lifting".
Couple of those fat SOB's and I'd be back in the ER  :(

Just pick a couple of young buck to do the heavy lifting and you can be in charge of pulling the lever that drops the floor.
