Hopefully the people of Philly will band together and scrape up the money for a new chair for this kid. Then track down the asshat that stole the old one and beat him half to death.

Here's my question. How did neighbors report that Dad put his kid naked in the washing machine? I am no hero, but the only way someone is going to put a child in a washing machine is over my dead body. I don't mean to sound righteous, but some things are worth dieing for. Actually, screw that, lets try again. Somethings you HAVE to die for its not optional. Saving a a toddler from being drowned in a washing machine is one of them. Even if you know you'll lose you do it anyway, because we areall going to die of something. I'd rather my stone read "He died doing right" than "He lived a few more years because he didn't do right, but here he is anyway.". >:(
Just sayin'

That falls under the category of: "It's tough to shave when you can't look at yourself in the mirror".

But they were... FRENCH. Calling the authorities is what they are conditioned to do.

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/sideshow/shoplifters-robbed-while-stealing-grocery-store-192530012.html
Two accused shoplifters got a taste of their own medicine when they sought to clear out of the crime--and found that a passing malefactor had broken into their own car.
Security personnel were in the process of questioning Korin Vanhouten, 47, and Eldon Alexander, 36, at an Ogden, Utah WinCo supermarket, accused of stealing makeup, energy bars and batteries. At the end of the interrogation, they left with a citation for attempted shoplifting.
However, they soon stumbled on to the scene of a successful carlifting, with the awkward discovery that while they were in the WinCo, someone--or several someones--had broken into their car.
And as it turned out, the ironies were just starting to multiply. For Vanhouten and Alexander proceeded to report the ransacking of their vehicle to the same officer who had issued them their shoplifting citation.
In the process of leaving the WinCo lot, the officer came upon "the two suspects trying to flag him down in the parking lot," as Ogden Police Lt. Eric Young characterized the surreal moment for the Deseret News. "And he goes over to their location and realizes that their vehicle has actually been burglarized. They ended up having their stereo and amplifier, a drum machine and some cigarettes stolen from their vehicle," Young said.
The car break-in reportedly happened while the police officer's car was parked nearby.

I know what you mean....but maybe we need a "study".
Might it be that these things happened just as often in the past, but we never heard about all the slimy stories in every back woods village in the nation.
It might be that this type of even is making it into big NEWS rooms more often than in the past....and that the NEWS reporting has more of a propensity to report this ugliness than before....and that might be because the audience has more of a propensity to want such stories.
It's like soft boiled eggs and rare steaks....many ate them and the dangers were know but they were not reported until "everyone" heard about it and everyone also became very much more interested.

Bill, On the NRA website Cam Edwards used to have a 3 hour show daily .
One night he reported what he called, "The deal of the day" it was a news story about a ex convict with a lengthy criminal record who on being convicted of a murder, was sentenced to.......
Probation.
He thought it was unusual enough that he went looking.
"Deal of the Day" became a nightly feature, every night, career violent criminals committing awful crimes, rape, murder, aggravated assault, and being sentenced to .....
Probation, time served, community service, sometimes just a stern lecture.
People are animals.
And not particular likable animals at that.
That is why America's Constitution, with its rules and defined Powers and Rights lead America to the moon and Disney world, while European "Humanism" lead to Dachau and the Gulag.

Thought about posting this in Tom's "Are you on drugs" thread.........
A STORY ABOUT POOP, WEED & A NAKED OLD DUDE
Man leads police on 100 mph chase
Shoppers and employees at the local Walmart store got more than just after Thanksgiving bargains earlier this week when a South Padre Island man allegedly exposed himself in the middle of the store and ultimately led police on an approximate 100 mile-per-hour chase across the Queen Isabella Causeway.
Walter Thomas Ellison, age 69, of South Padre Island, was apprehended by Port Isabel police and booked on one charge of indecent exposure, one charge of driving while intoxicated, one charge of causing an accident involving damage and possession of marijuana – each a Class B Misdemeanor.
---------------------
According to Chief Gonzales, the entire episode began when Ellison allegedly soiled his shorts and proceeded to drop them in the middle of the Walmart men’s department in exchange for a pair off the rack, exposing himself in the processes. When approached by a store employee, Ellison fled, jumped into his car, and allegedly struck the victim’s car as he left the parking lot.

Hell, if you're going to do yourself in by jumping off a balcony, why the slice job before hand?
-
Maybe he was hoping to bleed to death on the way down .
Maybe there is a rational explanation, perhaps he had an accident while slicing veggies naked and realizing what he'd done threw himself out the window .
Probably not.
I remember reading somewhere that the "Wu Tang" was the oldest surviving example of the samurai style sword, the design being brought to Japan by the early Buddhist monks, I can't find a link confirming that though so I'm not sure of the accuracy .

Perhaps Lorena Bobbitt turned him down for a date?

Man holding breath in Oregon tunnel causes crash
MANNING, Ore. – A 19-year-old man caused a three-car crash when he fainted while holding his breath as he drove through a tunnel northwest of Portland, Oregon State Police said.
Daniel J. Calhon, of Snohomish, Washington, told investigators he fainted Sunday afternoon while holding his breath in the Highway 26 tunnel near the community of Manning, according to a news release. His car, a 1990 Toyota Camry, drifted across the centerline and crashed head-on with a Ford Explorer.
Both vehicles struck the tunnel walls before a pickup hit the Camry.

-
Who faints while holding their breath for 10 seconds? Besides this idiot that is. And why?
Why? Everybody knows bad things can happen to you if you breathe the pollution laden air inside a automotive tunnel....
It also might be noted that with mental facilities functioning like that, he was near unconscious to start with.

This one is a little different in that it does not involve an individual but a government agency instead.
I know, I know. Doing stupid things is SOP for most government agencies...but this one just seemed double stupid to me.
One government agency has decided that the results of employee ratings are too discriminatory, and eliminated the process entirely. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau announced on Monday that it will now award all employees the highest rating regardless of performance reviews.
http://cowboybyte.com/30714/employee-ratings-avoid-discrimination/
After posting this I got to thinking that I could not imagine ANY agency being dumb enough to publish a statement like this and am starting to see if I can fact check it.
Found a more elaborate story at American Banker...which I will deem an unbiased source. A bit more explanation for the statement, but very little more justification.

Flyer Tells Parents That Urge To Win And Athletic Ability Should Be Kept To Minimum. On Field Day.
The site Progressives Today has the story.
"The purpose of the day is for our school to get together for an enjoyable two hours of activities and provide an opportunity for students, teachers and parents to interact cooperatively. Since we believe that all of our children are winners, the need for athletic ability and the competitive “urge to win” will be kept to a minimum. The real reward will be the enjoyment and good feelings of participation."
Progressives Today ?
Should be called "Breeding for mediocrity".
-
The government doesn't want employee efficiency or quality rated, any more than teachers unions do.
-
They are training, and breeding sheep who will not think or act for themselves.

"The real reward will be the enjoyment and good feelings of participation." Well there's the problem.

It's more fun to win a competition than lose one.
Not all children are winners. Some are downright losers....then they grow up to be employed by schools.

exactly, I have been around more blind people then you can shake a stick at( pun intended) I would say they have a slightly more ass hole to good person raito then the rest of the population. while many are great people and a joy to be around, there are many that are the worst kind of people I have ever met. they play the blind card a lot and in very scummy ways.
-
Are those the ones that make you want to rearrange the furniture ?
-
more like pore out boxes of 16 penny nails. 4 out of the 5 worst people I have met are blind and 2 of the 5 best people. I would say its about 1 in 5 is a good person. which is about half as many of the average public. its really sad actually.
-
Are those the ones that make you want to rearrange the furniture ?
I learned something when I was a teenager coming home a bit late when the house was asleep.
My room was at the end of an L shaped uncarpeted hallway. My sisters room then my parents room at the elbow, and my room and the bathroom at the end.
What I found out was that I sub-consciously knew which doors were open in that dark hallway with my first few steps into it. I realized I knew when I noticed I would slow and walk softlier as I approached my parents room when the door was open and not when it was closed. I also "knew" to reach for the bathroom door nob when the door was closed but not when it was open.
Didn't know I knew that stuff till I noticed I was acting on that information.
I'd bet blind folks can tell the "sounds" in a room are different if stuff has been moved around.
I think part of their tapping with the cane is to create echos for navigation.
-

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2014/12/26/a-christmas-crime-story-so-bizarre-its-hard-to-choose-where-to-begin/
Carrie Carley, 42, had been noticing that her 18-year-old husband, Jeremy Lewallen, was taking walks in their Colorado Springs, Colorado, neighborhood in the middle of night, usually around 2 or 3 a.m.
Each time after he returned, she told KKTV-TV, she couldn’t help noticing a growing collection of Christmas decorations in their front yard.
“I didn’t know exactly where it all came from,” Carley told the station.
Things became clearer Dec. 19, when the couple was arrested.
According to the arrest affidavit obtained by 11 News, a neighbor who had his decorations stolen was driving around his neighborhood when he spotted a very familiar looking Christmas display in the suspects’ front yard. Police served a search warrant there and allegedly found, in the words of one of the theft victims, “a decoration graveyard.”
The couple’s front and back yards were filled with stolen lawn ornaments and Christmas decorations, officers said — about $2,000 worth.
--------------------
“I guess he still thinks it’s a game,” she told the station. “He doesn’t seem to care really one way or another. …I asked him, and he was like, ‘Well, this is my job.’ And I’m like, ‘Taking from unassuming people is your job?’”

Bill, we need to buy lottery tickets today...... I just read this article and logged in to post it to this very thread when lo and behold, it was here.... ;D
As to the story, I don't know what is more disturbing...... the fact that the father/daughter are having sex and planning to marry, or the last sentence outlining their plan to move to New Jersey after the wedding because ADULT INCEST IS LEGAL there......to repeat: ADULT INCEST IS LEGAL.
WTBH??
-
If society can not limit marriage to one man and one woman, then they can not limit it to one, they can not limit it to unrelated, they can not even limit it to 2 humans.
And yes, inbreeding reinforces genetic flaws, maybe not 3 heads but things like hemophilia and idiocy are fairly common.

I always wondered if that kid playing the banjo in "Deliverance" was related to any liberal politicians.

That's not just disgusting it's illegal here and I imagine most other states too. It should be illegal everywhere.

Like I posted above, when you knock down moral standards you open the door to all kinds of consequences. Most states had their "morals" laws knocked down by SCOTUS decrees defending homosexuality. If these people had more money they would not have to move as they could use the same arguments as the gays to get the local law overturned. They could probably collect damages on top of it.
It started out as "Quit beating up the queers", but now it has evolved into issues of gay marriage, and adult incest. Next comes legitimized pedophilia and bestiality.
How screwed up does a culture have to be when PETA is a guardian of the last vestiges of morality ?
