Why can't we run him for ANYTHING!! If Jesse Ventura can be Gov, why can't Ted be Pres?
Could you imagine the corkscrew of fear going up the backs of libretards if Nugent were the Repub Nominee, or Pres.?!
Could you see him playing Strangle Hold and riding a buffalo in front of the WH at his own Inaugral Ball?

It would be fun. For about ten minutes. :-\
The question is this. Why can't we get a serious candidate? And why have we fallen so far that a has been rock star actually looks appealing? :'(

Because "serious" candidates are politicians and to be in that occupation long enough to be a serious candidate for president your views and outlook become so fouled that a has been rock star or plumber knows better how the country should be run. The has been rock star is just able to get more press than the plumber.

That was kinda my point. He doesn't have the baggage. Never cheated on his wife. Never done drugs.. Been vocal about morals and living a clean life for at least 33 years (when I heard him talk about it the first time). He even has a kindred spirit with the indian ways.. (He's a Christian..) The music, if you call it that, is just a job.. he takes wounded warriors back in the woods to help them get their heads back together.. he lives a simple life.
He's been asked about running several times.. He'd consider Governor of Michigan, as I recall..
The only two segments that would be sure to vote against him would be the professors lounge and the black community. The reasons for the former, you can answer for yourself and the latter because they're superstitious about white folks that come across as being a little crazy (or am I showing my age on this one?)..
I just love the notion, and he'd beat Romney in a heartbeat... Tell me the truth, as a gun owner, or even just a citizen generically, would you have more confidence that your individual rights would be in tact in four years under Nugent or Romney? I mean really..
Don't believe me? put up a poll on here..
Forgive the overuse of the expression but... I'm just sayin..

Ummm..... Ted owned up to having a kid with another woman just a few years ago, while married to his current wife.

I'd agree with you Santa, except for this. There is this thing called reality. I don't care if you are a plumber, a professor, an IT tech, or an entrepreneur, there are rules to every game in every area in which you work. You can bitch about them till the cows come home, and keep bitching till the cows get bored and leave. But it doesn't change the fact that railing against "the system" isn't enough. You need to know how to either make the system work for you, or, in more extreme circumstances, know how to replace it. Otherwise you get nowhere. I give you Jimmy Carter as exhibit A. He meant well, but he accomplished squat. Abe Lincoln would be exhibit B. He got the job done, but it took half a million dead to make it happen. The Presidents who actually got the job done (regardless of whether you approved of them) were folks like Washington, McKinley, TR, Wilson, FDR and Johnson. They understood the game and changed the country for good or ill. Ted has my heart, but I'd rather have someone else get my vote. This year though? Damned if I know. All I can tell you is that I know who I won't be voting for. The rest is up for grabs. :'(

Old news........

Old news........
I don't think it was old news to Santahog considering that he listed that Ted had never cheated on his wife as a political brownie point.

I'll concede that point but Ted never said he was a saint either! His wife has forgiven him, that's all that matters!

OK, so folks are going to dump on Ted? Seriously? Every one of the candidates has done far, far worse - every damn one.
Dump bho - that is our mission, our only mission!!

There should be a new law (and some way for it not to be re-written, changed, edited, removed) -
No office shall have a term of more than 4 years, and that single term is final. No running again, no 25 year governors and 50 year senators.
It is because of lazy, we've-always-done-it-this-way "professional "politicians, that our country is so damaged. We need inspired amateurs to have a shot at fixing things. There are so many lobbyists, and big corporate "what's in it for me?" greedy people out there. Then you have the welfare people. Aggghhhh - I could just go on..........
I have always said I want either Ted Nugent or Dave Mustaine for president (maybe they would run together)!

Interesting choice, I have never heard Mustaine's politics. The only thing that I really know about him (other that his music) is that he was a member of Metallica for awhile, but was kicked out due to his drug habits.

And then reality rears it's ugly head.......such a law would have to be passed by the 50-year Senators and Representatives of which you speak. Never gonna happen. Dammit.

Ancient history. He is clean and sober now..... Regardless, here is an interview he did with Eddie Trunk which gives some insight.

I'm not trying to push ideals, but he's super intelligent and I believe in the things Nugent preaches as well.....My opinion is all.

It's not laziness, it's greed/lust of money and/or power. Satisfying that lust takes alot of work.. Eventually, it's somebody elses work, but still.. There have been folks up there who stay 20 years for the right reasons and some who just got there for the wrong ones.. It's jot just government, either, you know.. I'd be comfortable in suggesting that there are some at our beloved NRA who are there for the power.
I suspect the Pierce Morgan thinks he is a powerful opinion shaper.. Most folks in the press do it for that reason, even at Fox, I suspect..

I wasn't bashing at all, I like Mustaine, and have been a fan for decades. Like I said, I had never heard much about his personal life or political leanings. Probably because he's not very outspoken about it. (Imagine that! An entertainer who simply entertains!)
