The gun only had a single round in it, when he picked it up at the end of the video it was at slide lock. Just give him a quarter of a point back out of the 1000 he lost for being an idiot. ::)

I remember reading / watching a show about the guy that originally developed vests doing the same thing to show they were safe and get sales going to LEOs.

Not really better eyes, I thought it was loaded when he dropped it, but I thought if I were going to do this would I have more than one round in the gun?
Then I realized what I was thinking and smacked my head against a hard surface. But I do have my safety glasses-DOH!....BAM!

He would also put phone books between himself and the vest for some cushioning. I guess this clown missed the memo. ::)
