This in from Ann Coulter:
NEGROES WITH GUNS
Ann Coulter shares history of Dems keeping firearms out of the hand of blacks.
Liberals have leapt on the shooting death of Trayvon Martin in Florida to push for the repeal of “stand your ground” laws and to demand tighter gun control. (MSNBC’S Karen Finney blamed “the same people who stymied gun regulation at every point.”)
This would be like demanding more funding for the General Services Administration after seeing how its employees blew taxpayer money on a party weekend in Las Vegas.
We don’t know the facts yet, but let’s assume the conclusion MSNBC is leaping to is accurate: George Zimmerman stalked a small black child and murdered him in cold blood, just because he was black.
If that were true, every black person in America should get a gun and join the National Rifle Association, America’s oldest and most august civil rights organization.
Apparently this has occurred to no one because our excellent public education system ensures that no American under the age of 60 has the slightest notion of this country’s history.
Gun control laws were originally promulgated by Democrats to keep guns out of the hands of blacks. This allowed the Democratic policy of slavery to proceed with fewer bumps and, after the Civil War, allowed the Democratic Ku Klux Klan to menace and murder black Americans with little resistance.

I saw that, thought it was a great article, but since FQ is missing posting it here is preaching to the choir.

Many prominent lawyers, even Lib lawyers like Dershowitz, said the new judge will review this amateur indictment, and more than likely throw it out.

Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz: Trayvon Martin Affidavit So Thin It Won’t Make It Passed a Decent Judge
Posted on April 13, 2012 by Teri
Yesterday Harvard Law professor and liberal icon Alan Dershowitz appeared on MS-NBC’s Hardball, and declared that the case by the Trayvon Martin special prosecutor Angela Corey is not only weak because it is completely consistent with a claim of self-defense. It is unethical because it omits exculpatory evidence favorable to George Zimmerman. Clearly Dershowitz is disgusted by what he thinks is a politically-motivated over-charging by a grandstanding prosecutor.

Vid at link, and more of the interview....
He's not the only lawyer to say the indictment is weak.
Just waiting for the riots to start down here.....Get it over with.....Sig 556 still holds a damn fine zero.... ;)

This is the first thing she's put out in a while that didn't rub me the wrong way, (newly converted rino and all)..
Good for her. I hope she doesn't forget this in a few years too..

Yeah.
Would it be considered 'baiting' if he wasn't busy? ;) ;D

It's good to throw reminders like that in.

"No Guns for Negroes " exposes the racist history of American gun control laws. Every person who supports gun control laws must be shown this film or gun ownership will cease to exist in America. NEW - Read a very relevant article - "The Racist Roots of Gun Control" by Clayton E. Cramer.
Down load here. It is a good video.

Did you know that the same Gun Laws that kept MLK from arming himself for Self Defense here in Alabama are the same laws that are still in place TODAY?..
That little fact is a stain on this State that needs to be removed.. "May Issue".. More to it than seen at a glance..

They should be honest and call it "depends on if we like you issue". :-\
Still better than Illinois though . :-[

Better than Illinois.. Still not right..
grumble..
-
Santahog,
I don't disagree that AL should move to "shall issue." However, I have never heard of anyone, outside your MLK example, having an issue. In fact, every experience I've had and heard of is easier than almost any other state that requires a permit discussed in the "wait time for ccw" thread.

Issued and renewed on the spot...

Issued and renewed on the spot...
That doesn't tell the whole story though.. This varies by County, by very loose/squishy State law.. Next County over you have to wait 6 months if you've moved there less than 6 months prior to application. You have to register your carry gun/any gun you carry there for a permit. The law was written to allow Sheriff to use as discriminatory against anybody he sees fit. It can be abused by design.

Yeah, I knoiw it varies by county and has the potential to be abused. I also agree that it would be nice to decrease that potential. I was just curious if you knew of any circumstances where it was/is being abused. In my county, you have to provide a serial number for a pistol the first time you apply, but you aren't locked to that gun and don't have provide one for a renewal.
I was pretty much in and out for mine to. My county has even mailed me a copy of my permit to a PO Box out of state after I lost my wallet with my permit in it. No cost, no questions, no problems.
The potential is there though.

What happened to him?

What happened to him?
His father had bypass surgery several months ago. He's been looking after him and another member of his family somewhere outside of Naples, FL for some time. I spoke to him a month ago, he's fine just off the grid!
-
I had wondered why he hasn't been around. I hope his family gets better.

I never gave it a thought about the democrats having banned guns to Nergo population, but she is surely right, I remember of having
read it myself, and I believe she is right that as many black Americans should take up arms and join the NRA, USCCA, and other gun
organizations as possible, because it is honestly true. Disarm the black American so they are easily killed. This is where our nation is
headed today with and gun ban, and the U.N.'s small arms treaty as well as the U.N. agenda 21. This is something I must keep in mind when I write my state and federal representatives. I would strongly suggest every member here do the same thing. We have to write our reps. We have lost so many freedoms that it is pathetic.
-
Prior to the Clinton "assault weapons ban every gun law since colonial times was aimed primarily at keeping blacks disarmed.
And yet Blacks overwhelmingly vote for the Dems, the party of slavery and gun control.
Go figure.

Exactly. The party that makes it so easy to stay "enslaved" to to Welfare.
The Democratic Party draws much of it's base from the poor...and it is in their best interest to keep them poor and maintain that base.
The Republican Party draws much of it's base from the more wealthy and it is in their interest to keep them wealthy. They might not do anything to help someone become wealthy, but they sure won't discourage it.

I guess it has something to do with education maybe. It's like the Jewish community that votes democrate all the time despite those
whom went through the holocost. Jews for the Protection of Firearms.com is an interesting web site. Some Jews are all out for being armed and even use scripture to substantiate their belief in being armed. My opinion is "we are just a bunch of lazy cows grazing away
while everything is being removed from us by legislatures with the intelligence of a piss ant.

Then again, maybe they just like the idea of not having to think for themselves or take any responsibility for their actions.

Disarming the populace has NEVER in world history been an act of keeping the peace, or safety.
It has ALWAYS been a method of exerting control .
And it usually is followed by massacres of one group by the group in power.

I have never "had in abundance", but I've been pretty thin at times.. My association with the GOP was never motivated my the money end of it. It was always the religious/moral affiliation that was present from its founding..
I know I'm wierd, (and Tom thinks I'm an idiot, screw you Tom..) but I don't think of the historic GOP/political right from the point of view of "advocating for the wealthy", but freedom/opportunity.. The Democrat Party, to me is the party of the godless/envy/demonic..

Venezuela bans private gun ownership
A worker destroys a weapon confiscated by the police during a news conference in Caracas May 18 2012. The government implemented a gun amnesty ahead of the introduction of the new law
Venezuela has brought a new gun law into effect which bans the commercial sale of firearms and ammunition.
Until now, anyone with a gun permit could buy arms from a private company.
Under the new law, only the army, police and certain groups like security companies will be able to buy arms from the state-owned weapons manufacturer and importer.
The ban is the latest attempt by the government to improve security and cut crime ahead of elections in October
Venezuela saw more than 18,000 murders last year and the capital, Caracas, is thought to be one of the most dangerous cities in Latin America.
'Must do more'
The government has been running a gun amnesty in the run-up to the introduction of the new law to try to encourage people to give up their illegal arms without fear of consequences.

It isn't a matter of being for the rich, or the poor.
It's a matter of being smart enough to know that if you spend more than you earn you will have trouble.
Any one who can balance a checkbook should be able to figure that out.
The rest vote Dem.
Running the country is not that much different than running your personal life.
If you spend more 60% than you earn, you are going to run up a debt you can never repay.
If your kid steals from you or kills the cat they have to be punished, and if some one breaks in and starts living in your house you throw them out, you don't get them a cable hook up.
It isn't exactly rocket science.
As for Santahogs personal attack, yes, I do mostly, especially if you think religious organizations have any place, in secular politics.
Religious organizations do not even have a legitimate right to comment on secular affairs.
Note that I specify "religious organizations".
It is the reverse side of the 1st A.
If Congress can have no say religion, then religions have no say in the conduct of Congress.
That being said, a persons opinions will be formed in accordance with their personal beliefs in right and wrong, and there is no way to separate an individual's religious beliefs from the decision making process.
As an example, no matter what laws are passed they can never remove sincere prayer from school as long as grades matter.
They can get rid of the "Pledge of allegiance" and everything else, but they will never get rid of "Oh God PLEASE let me pass this test".

Tom, waaah.. I'm sure somebody will wipe a tear for you.. You've done alot of dishing to recoil at something as ordinary as that..
As for the "Reverse side ot the 1A", I didn't know that those things were written to work like a dirty sock or underwear that you can just turn inside out to get a little more mileage out of it.. Guess that was in one of those undiscovered letters between Hamilton and Jefferson.. ;D
Seriously though.. At the end of your post you got it right.. You can't protect government from the religious without turning the whole structure on it's head, (which won't work.. It'll break it).. It was only meant to protect the religious from the government, not the other way around..

You have fallen into the Liberal trap on this.
Every one is supposed to have "Rights" with no mention of equal and opposite RESPONSIBILITY.
Apply common sense.
You have freedom of speech, but you also have the unstated responsibility not to yell fire in a theater.
You have the Right to arms, but the responsibility to use them safely.
Opposite sides of the same coin.
If the founders never specified it they probably never conceived of a population dumb enough to need it pointed out to them.
But then, they also never would have believed in a population to gutless to defend their right to a 20 Oz. Coke either.

I mostly don't bother clicking links.
That was why in that last NDAA thread I ignored the first post (which was just a link ) but replied when you posted the text.
PS. F*ck small, I want mine by the KEG ! ;D

Speaking of NDAA and those pols that grandstand over nothing.. Just came across this.. Here's another bunch that can't seem to see the benevolent nature of our keepers.. ;D

BREAKING NEWS…BREAKING NEWS… BREAKING NEWS !!!
From the minutes of the Fulton County, Pennsylvania Commissioner’s Meeting from yesterday May 22, 2012.
Motion by Commissioner McCray to adopt Resolution Number 9 of 2012 Condemning Section 1021 of the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act. All in favor. THIS IS THE RESOLUTION THAT MARY AND I PUT TOGETHER TO PROTECT EVERYONE’S FREEDOM !!! Well, the people in Fulton County… Now on to the State !!!!
In Liberty, Joe
—
We have now received confirmation from Dan Swain, who is the county’s Chief Clerk, that on May 22, 2012,Fulton County joined Elk County in opposition to section 1021 of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for 2012 by passing Resolution Number 9 of 2012, “A RESOLUTION Condemning Section 1021 of the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act“. This resolution states, in part:
WHEREAS, the Commissioners of this County have taken an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America and the Constitution of the State of Pennsylvania;
WHEREAS, this County opposes any and all rules, laws, regulations, bill language or executive orders, which amount to an overreach of the federal government and which effectively take away civil liberties;
NOW BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the Commissioners of Fulton County Pennsylvania, condemn in no uncertain terms Section 1021 of the 2012 NDAA as it purports to: 1) indefinitely detain United States citizens and lawful resident aliens captured within the United States of America without charge; 2) subject American Citizens and lawful resident aliens captured within the United States of America to military tribunals; and 3) transfer American Citizens and lawful resident aliens captured within the United States of America to a foreign country or foreign entity.
WITNESS THE DUE ADOPTION of this Resolution this 22nd day of May, 2012.
The Tenth Amendment Center has written extensively on the NDAA for 2012. Here, here and here, for example. Also, Blake Filippi gives a fantastic lecture on the topic in this video from Nullify Now! Philadelphia.
We applaud the courage that Fulton County’s commissioners demonstrated by passing this resolution.
As Joe wrote, “Now on to the State” - Unfortunately, at this time, a keyword search of the state legislature web site for the string “NDAA” still comes up empty.
In 1793, the federal government passed the first federal fugitive slave act. This law allowed the kidnapping of black people based upon little more than an accusation. Many Pennsylvania citizens responded by establishing an underground railroad and the state eventually responded with personal liberty laws in the 1820s and again in1847.
The 1847 law – crafted to comply with the 1842 Prigg v. Pennsylvania supreme court ruling – states,
SECTION 5. That nothing in this act shall be constructed to take away what is hereby declared to be invested in the Judges of this Commonwealth, the right, power and authority, at all times, on application made, to issue the writ of habeas corpus, and to inquire into the causes and legality of the arrest or imprisonment of any human being within this Commonwealth.
Think about that. In 1847, our legislature declared that judges in Pennsylvania have the right, power and authority, at all times… to issue the writ of habeus corpus and to inquire into the causes and legality of imprisonment of any human being. In 2012, our federal government presumes to usurp that authority, yet our legislature is silent.
We commend the commissioners of Fulton County and encourage you to contact your own local, county and state officials. The Tenth Amendment Center’s model, Liberty Preservation Act offers several ways for state and local legislators to oppose the NDAA for 2012.
