Authorities say a northern New York man had his friend shoot him in the leg with a rifle because he wanted to know what it feels like to be shot. ??? http://xfinity.comcast.net/articles/news-odd/20120515/US.ODD.Shot.By.Request/

Well, this time we are pretty sure this Darwin Award recipient isn't Tex. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Right behind the ear, instead of the leg, would have solved several societal concerns....IMHO, FWIW.

Is it still a crime to shoot some one if they ask you to ?
It was not intended to be fatal so it's not attempted murder.
There was no malice involved, in fact, doing a favor is usually considered an act of good will so assault would not really apply.
No attempt at insurance fraud..

Wonder if booze or dope was involved :'( :P

hehe got that right especially when you are the spectator

Uttering the words "What could possibly go wrong" is never a good idea in the adventure sports arena. However, here are a few phrases I hear quite often:
No shit, there we were....
Remember that time we almost died?.....
So, it seem like a good idea at the time....
