Was A ‘Church-Going Daddy‘s Girl’ Arrested Because She Likes To Blow Up Toilets On Her Property?
Posted on June 2, 2012 at 12:23pm by Mike Opelka Mike Opelka
A college student in Georgia is sitting in jail following a raid on her family home by the FBI, ATF and officers from several local law enforcement agencies.
23-year-old Celia Savage has been charged with illegally possessing a destructive device, as well as possession of a firearm while being an unlawful user of a controlled substance. Her father says she is not guilty.
The multi-agency raid was conducted at the family’s home in Cornelia, Ga. on May 30. Ms. Savage was arrested and charged, due to arraigned Friday in federal court. The hearing was postponed to next week. Until then, she remains in jail, held without bond.
The FBI alleges that Ms. Savage admitted to making as many as seven pipe bombs and exploding them as a “hobby.” Until late Friday, there was a YouTube video purporting to show Savage lighting a fuse on a bomb that would explode a commode in the woods.
The video of the exploding toilet has since been “removed by user.”
Reviewing Celia Savage’s Facebook postings (below), one can see why authorities might have cause to speak with her. In her personal information, she posted the following:
Savage also describes herself as a Christian and an anarchist and then adds some quotes that reflect her philosophy.
Many are wondering why a multi-agency raid with a “small army” was needed. Perhaps it was the quotes Ms. Savage posted that raised the feds’ eyebrows. Or was this something else? One online supporter alleged the raid was triggered by a personal dispute. He wrote that a call to the ATF was made by someone holding a grudge against the young lady:
This is not a girl that “they” have been watching for years and following her because she is “shady” (yeah right)…this is a girl that last week someone decided to make a call to authorities and destroy her life because of a personal vendetta…This is so sad…I wish you the best
According to several news reports, both father and daughter share a general dislike of intrusive government agencies. Tommy Savage has been quoted as saying:
“I think everybody ought to be able to stay on their property, do whatever the heck they want to… I wish the government would stay out of her business or my business or whoever’s.”
The Blaze did speak with Tommy Savage about the situation with his daughter. He said he was not able to release any public statements, but did maintain his belief that his child is innocent.

Here's hint for today's day and age,....Don't videotape blowing commodes up on your property, and post on youtube....Don't make stupid remarks that trigger the "100 words" that bring you attention on Facebook...
My kinda girl though.... ::)

Being a "gun loving, Christian, Daddy's girl does not make her a good person.
Timothy McViegh was a gun loving Christian too.
Being a bomb maker does make her a felon, and posting videos of it on YouTube makes her an idiot.

How can people be so stupid that they post video of themselves doing illegal things ?
Then they are surprised and indignant when the cops show up.
Even if the law they broke is foolish or wrong, these dumb azzes are better off in jail since they are to stupid to function in society.

7ish Rules for doing illegal/potentially illegal things.*
1. Don't do them.
If you feel that you must do them, proceed to the following rules.
2. Don't video tape or photograph the event in any way shape or form.
2.a. If event is taped, do not allow it to be shared publicly; destroy it and all copies immediately.
3. Don't let anyone see you do them.
3.a. No matter how much you trust them, they aren't trustworthy.
4. Don't tell anyone you did them.
4.a. See 3.a.
5. Don't document them in writing.
5.a. If event is documented in writing, do not allow it to be shared publicly; destroy it and all copies immediately.
6. Don't include your name/personal identification in the act of the crime (e.g., grafitti with your real name, etc.).
6.a. Don't be a complete dumbass you idiot.
7. See Rule #1.
7.a. Dodge, dip, dive, duck, and dodge.
7.b. You especially deserve to get caught and punished if you break rules 2, 2.a., 5.a., 6, and 6.a.
*I reserve the right to modify the rules as necessary and without warning. Despite any potential changes, videoing and sharing pubilcly a potentially criminal act will always qualify you as a dumbass. Have a nice day.

O.K., O.K. If you believe in freedom and private property then she had every "Natural Right" to do so. Who did she hurt, only the feelings of the socialist that desire to take over the country and tell us what we can and cannot do, as well as the toilets.
The rule is, as long as you are on your property and no one, and I mean no one is going to get hurt from it then I believe she had the right to do so. However, if you live in an urban setting some may take offense at such fun making, and nothing I would recommend. A little common sense goes a long way here.
Making such impliments are not on any of my lists unless SHTF; then I will give it serious consideration. I want my "Natural Right to have freedom from the government" which is nothing like the Constitution established.
I have no doubt that I will or may catch some flak over this, but for me this is just overboard.
This is not the end of the "freedom story but I do not wish to be a hog here.

I'm not saying that someone shouldn't have the right to blow up some toilets on their own property as long as no one is getting hurt. I think the stuff that is now an arrestable crime that I could get away with as a kid not that long ago is insane. The nanny state is sadly prevailing. What I am saying is that, under the current laws, blowing up toilets and similar actions are most likely illegal. Therefore, it is best not to blow up toilets (insert other similar actions here). However, if you maintain that it is your right to be able to do it anyway, minimize the number of people who know about it and don't video and post it online. If I weren't so jaded by the stupidity of the "average" person, I would be in constant amazement what people admit to online, especially in video.
Given the rules that we have, you have to either play by them or give at least give a legitimate appearance that you are. Posting videos and comments showing that you are doing them is not the best way to maintain that appearance.

I'm not even that adamant about the "nobody getting hurt" part.
My approval depends entirely on WHO is sitting on it at the time. ;D

Blowing up toilets isn't against the law but making pipe bombs is. That's where she screwed up.
-
DA's around the country have to be very pleased with this trend.
I'm sure at one time or another they have considered putting up a web site and asking folks to post videos of themselves doing illegal stuff...but they figured no one would be dumb enough to do it...and the few that did wouldn't make up for the overhead of keeping the site running.
They might have been right about the overhead.

Tannerite, that lovely LEGAL binary compound used on Top Shot, Sons Of Guns, etc,.. et, al...and LEGALLY purchased and used by me personally at my range, has dozens of videos of folks "blowing up" all kinds of things with it.
Sorry,....couldn't help it.....Elmo Must Be Stopped.... ;)
So she should have bought some Tannerite,,,,,and not "announced" to the world....that her devices were home made.....Big Sis watches youtube, and her minions are al over Facebook....

Runstowin is about 200 years behind the curve.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alien_and_Sedition_Acts
The Alien and Sedition Acts were four bills passed in 1798 by the Federalists in the 5th United States Congress in the aftermath of the French Revolution and during an undeclared naval war with Britain and France, later known as the Quasi-War. They were signed into law by President John Adams.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sedition_Act_of_1918
The Sedition Act of 1918 (Pub.L. 65-150, 40 Stat. 553, enacted May 16, 1918) was an Act of the United States Congress that extended the Espionage Act of 1917 to cover a broader range of offenses, notably speech and the expression of opinion that cast the government or the war effort in a negative light or interfered with the sale of government bonds. "[1]
It forbade the use of "disloyal, profane, scurrilous, or abusive language" about the United States government, its flag, or its armed forces or that caused others to view the American government or its institutions with contempt. Those convicted under the act generally received sentences of imprisonment for 5 to 20 years.
And let us not forget the current cult of "political correctness" that has been in force for the last 20+ years.
Silly boy, You can't pray in school , you can't critisize blacks, Muslims, or illegal aliens, the White house has a web site for you to rat on critics of the POSIC, there is no free speech unless you are a Marxist.

I imagine most young people are not aware of the legal pitfalls out there. It would be easy for a curious young person to do something like this. Many laws confuse those that must enforce them.
I think this needs to be investigated and this young lady needs to be informed.
Hopefully, the system has the flexibility to deal with this appropriately, whatever the appropriate thing is.

I generally agree with your theory, but I have to disagree in this case. This is a 23 year old college student and supposedly proclaimed anarchist. She knew pipe bombs were illegal to make. Aditionally, I'm willing to bet the internet was used to find plans for them and more than one place along the way informed her that it was illegal to make them. She wasn't a 13 year old kid taking powder out of shotgun shells. I'm not much older than her and I've known for a long time that stuff like that will get you in trouble.
Where she made here biggest mistake was videoing it and posting on the internet.
By the way, welcome to the forum. Go over to the downrange cafe and introduce yourself.

Then we had B/W. Didn't own a color TV till I was 30 something...most likely around 1979.

Here's what I'm not getting. Why do you need to make pipe bombs to blow up toilets when you already have 2, .50 BMG's?
-
Dunno Bill. I'm sure a .50 would blow the $h!t out of it.

Is there anything positive about this website? I've never been there, and have no intentions of going there. But I don't think I have read one single positive thing about it anywhere, any time. Everything you read about it, from it's over inflated value on the stock market, to your potential employers spying on you in it, to police and various government officials using it to build a case against you with it. To criminials using it to find out when you won't be home. Is there any just reason to make a person want to go there in the first place?
-
So yes, the pipe bombs must have been the tipping point. Pretty bad choice to not put one's brain in gear to consider the ramifications.....all fun and never thinking of consequence is a trademark of youth.
In this new permissive and tolerant society we can't sell dynamite down at the feed store any longer because today's society cannot handle the freedoms that the society of my childhood took for granted.
That's right all you guys under 50...you used to be able to drive to the feed store up to the early 60's and buy dynamite. No waiting period either. Need to blow some stumps up or a rock pile...no problem, better living through chemicals.
Just so that you guys who are younger can file away something lost you probably never considered lost. This is a truism like, "How can you miss ice cream if you've never eaten any?"
-
The thing is you can legally buy Tannerite at Cabela's, along with dozens of other places, in most any amount you wish. They'll even ship it to your door. Stick 3 or 4 pounds of the stuff in an old toilet, back off 100 yards or so, and slam a APIT .50 BMG round into it, and it will blow apart better than a Dynamite charge could ever hope to. Lot's of billowing smoke along with a thunderous roar too boot! And the best part is you've done nothing illegal.

$18 a case and they threw in non electric caps and fuse free.
The last time my Dad bought some he was irate for a month, they made him show his drivers license.
The only rule was you could not carry the dynamite and blasting caps both in the cab.
If you were going to put the caps in the glove box you had to put the dynamite in the back.

It is a great organizational tool when used properly. You just have to be careful about what you post and who sees it. For the most part I agree with you that in most cases it's more trouble (read DRAMA) than it's worth. But just like a firearm, when used for it's intended purposes, it can be a powerful advertizing tool. I use it with great results for my non-profit work. You just have to stay away from all the personal crap.

I've been able to reconnect with friends and relatives I haven't seen in 30 years through Facebook. It's also allowed me to get to know some DRTV members a lot better. I've learned that Andy Langlois has something called an "AGA" that he's apparently quite smitten with. I've also learned that Marshal'ette missed her calling and should have been a comedy writer. I don't post anything political, just family stuff and photos.
It all depends on how you choose to use the tool.
-
Is there anything positive about this website?
I don't think so! I was able to connect with some folks as well but it wasn't that much fun to find that thirty or forty years later they either had changed too much or hadn't changed at all! It's also hard to reconnect with old girlfriends that now look like someones grandmother! Actually, they ARE grandmothers!
;D
It's an advertising tool that manipulates the members in order to keep them occupied to stay on the site longer. If you're not online, they ain't making any money! Recent articles have suggested that the excitement is waning and that 1 in 3 users are tired of Facebook in it's entirety and opting out. I find it hard to believe that Zuckerschmuker wasn't aware of this and was instrumental in them going public recently. I find it rather amusing to know that he's lost about $7,000,000,000.00 since the IPO last month.
I really pisses me off that you can NEVER entirely delete your account, EVER! It stays dormant on their servers forever and can be re-activated by a fat thumbed hacker who's got some mischief in mind. Facebook accounts get hacked constantly and one of the leading source of computer virus attacks of late!
I'm out....have no personal information other than my name but now you can't even delete a photo...

Yes, there are positives. I organize and run a benefit rugby tournament that has raised over $25,000 over the last 9 years. We get players to show up from near and far and help out local individuals that really need a helping hand for one reason or another. It wouldn't be nearly as big as it is and raise as much money as we have without being able to get the word out through facebook. No other site would be nearly as effective at reaching so many people.
My dad and I also promote and run a strongman competition and facebook is one of the best ways to get the information out there to get competitors. As with the rugby tournament, we get people from all over. We've had guys come from as far away as North Carolina for this contest.

And I'm thinking that the ATF doesn't like that. I would not be surprised if there weren't more raids on technicalities that focus on people who use tannerite. I guess I better hurry up and get some and try it at least once while I still can.

It depends on the area of the country you are in. Out here in Arizona I can't count the times I've been in the check out line at Cabela's and there were people in line ahead of me buying the stuff. Many times A LOT OF IT! The clerks and other people don't bat an eye at them. In fact one time the guy ahead of me was buying it, and the cute little blond check out girl said,.... "This stuff is really neat! My boyfriend and I shoot at it a lot" You have to be careful with it because sometimes a .22 won't set it off. Be sure to mix it up really good".... There is just so much open desert out here to use the stuff no one really pays that much attention to it.
Now if you lived in Chicago or Boston I'm sure people would start wondering. For example I grew up and went to high school in Oak Park, Illinois. They had that now infamous "handgun ban" like Morton Grove, Illinois had for many years up until the Heller Decision came down in favor of gun owners. I read in the news that someone was opening up a gun shop in that town, and the towns people were getting all upset about it. That city is packed solid with progressive thinking Democratic liberals. Here in the Phoenix area we've got more gun shops than shoe stores. Many of them are Class III Dealers. Again, no one bats an eye.
