Co-Sponsor Of Bill Banning Magazines Demonstrates She Doesn't Know What They Are, Mistakes Them for Bullets
During the forum, she was asked about the efficacy of banning these kinds of magazines when there are tens of millions of them in circulation. Rep DeGette's response revealed a complete ignorance of the item which she is seeking to ban.

"What's the efficacy of banning these magazine clips? I will tell you, these are ammunition, they're bullets, so the people who have those now, they're going to shoot them" says Rep DeGette. According to her, "the number of these high capacity magazines is going to decrease dramatically over time because the bullets will be shot and there won't be any more available."

Mrs. DeGette, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. One big problem is that there are people that will believe this crap and logic leaving them to believe that this a viable solution to "gun violence". None of the state laws recently passed or proposed on the federal level will make a rat's butt difference in evil, but too many people out there are too lazy too educate themselves about guns, magazines, clips, ammunition, bullets, etc.
They are educated by sound bites.
She may not be that big of a dumb ass. This just perpetuates a myth lie that passing nonsensical laws against responsible citizens will make a difference. Remember tell lies and tell them often and the sheep will be believe it.

During a public forum on national gun control legislation hosted by the Denver Post editorial board on Tuesday, U.S. Rep. Dianne DeGette (D-Colo.) mocked a concerned pro-gun senior citizen when he expressed his fears regarding how gun control will affect his ability to defend himself.
Among the scheduled panelists at the forum were DeGette, Ed Perlmutter (D-Colo.), Republican state Sen. Kevin Lundberg, and Larimer County Sheriff Justin Smith, according to the Denver Post.
“My question is: What about me?” the Denver citizen asked Rep. DeGette, arguing against limiting magazine capacity. “There may not be one bad guy that comes into my house… I have to change magazines? I am a serious disadvantage.”
“What about me?” he repeated.
After arrogantly smirking at his question, DeGette replied: “The good news for you, you live in Denver. The [Denver Police Department] would be there within minutes.”
“You’d probably be dead anyway if they had that kind of firepower,” she added.

The problem lies with the total subject ignorance of some of the people in power. Also, the propensity of those same people to react out of pure emotion. NOTHING we say will change her mind on the subject. Even if we educate this woman, she will still try to impose upon our freedoms. Democratic Rep. Diana DeGette, a lead sponsor of the federal ban on personal defense-capacity magazines showed a Denver Post forum she doesn’t have a clue as to what it is she wants to ban, and the “clarifying” statement made by her spokeswoman served to confirm the ignorance of both women.

A spokeswoman trying to deflect well-deserved ridicule and criticism made things worse in an issued statement, calling it “political gamesmanship” by “opponents of common-sense gun violence prevention trying to manipulate the facts to distract from the critical issue of keeping our children safe and keeping killing machines out of the hands of disturbed individuals.
“The Congresswoman has been working on a high-capacity assault magazine ban for years, and has been deeply involved in the issue,” Juliet Johnson said. “She simply misspoke in referring to ‘magazines’ when she should have referred to ‘clips,’ which cannot be reused because they don’t have a feeding mechanism."
She's been working on this for years? This correspondent has firearms that use magazines and firearms that use clips, and has unwittingly been reusing both of them for decades, fortunately without incident!
This inexcusable incomprehension of the basics illustrates not just arrogant incompetence, and what, in any other profession would be actionable malpractice, but also bigotry, which, rooted in ignorance, manifests itself in fear and hatred.

This is a diagram of an AR-15. Guns work by using the spring in the magazine to detonate the black powder inside the long tube at the end. The proton pack generates a powerful electromagnetic field that helps propel the bullet down the tube where it then exits and murders someone. Sometimes people murder each other with shotguns, which are similar to the AR-15 but have laser sights and vent holes.

SAFETY TIPS

Funniest thing about the safety rules is that even though she would know it is ridiculing her knowledge of an issue which she is working to pass laws violating the right of citizens, she wouldn't know how to correct the errors.

Was thinking the same thing about BHO.
Like it has been said, even a broken clock is right twice a day, and BHO is never right...never does what might be remotely considered of benefit to America.
It isn't due to his being inept, but because he is accomplishing exactly what he set out to achieve and that is the destruction of America.
I have no doubt that he would be inept if he were working for what a POTUS is supposed to be working for, but that isn't the plan.
What is scarier is that anyone is swallowing this line of crap ....and cheering about the taste.
