Barack Obama had to backtrack on foreign policy yet again today, this time on Jerusalem. He tried to outdo John McCain at AIPAC yesterday by insisting that Jerusalem remain the undivided capital of Israel. The Palestinians erupted in anger at that statement, and by the end of the day they had Obama backpedaling:
Facing criticism from Palestinians, Sen. Barack Obama acknowledged today that the status of Jerusalem will need to be negotiated in future peace talks, amending a statement earlier in the week that Jerusalem “must remain undivided.”
Obama, during a speech Wednesday to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, a pro-israel lobbying group, had called for Jerusalem to become the site of the U.S. embassy, a frequent pledge for U.S. presidential candidates. (It is now in Tel Aviv.) But his statement that Jerusalem should be the undivided capital of Israel drew a swift rebuke from Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.
Today he tried extracting his foot from his mouth, without much success:
Obama quickly backtracked today in an interview with CNN.
“Well, obviously, it’s going to be up to the parties to negotiate a range of these issues. And Jerusalem will be part of those negotiations,” Obama said when asked whether Palestinians had no future claim to the city.

A week or so (?) ago on FOX, they had a Palestinian in the Chicagoland area saying how a couple of years ago, B-HO was one of their supporters.
1. Christians don't understand him given his ties to a church that preaches hate. 2. Jews don't trust him. 3. Hamas is supporting him.
Hmmm?

This Christian understands him. That "church" cries out the name of Jesus but isn't anything about Jesus. It's a feel-good sham with a leftist-Marxist agenda. And for those of you who might be crawling into a hidey hole because have been led to believe, erroneously, that we "shouldn't judge anyone"....here ya go: 1 Corinthians 6:2-4 (King James Version) 2. Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? 3. Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? 4. If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.
OK...you made me pull out "the big guns". I'm not on a crusade to save board members here this was for non-Christians to see not all who call on the name of Christ are Christians and that the Christians (saints) here that might be feeling uncomfortable "judging" these little matters could have a little something to stand on.
In a supreme effort to avoid a rant on how the Christian "religion" has been hijacked by shysters....how is the weather around your place today? Got any new guns lately, been to the range? What's your favorite deer caliber and whose bullet do you prefer? Tiptoe...through the tulips...."Yea though I walk....."

It still amazes me that a canidate endorsed by the Black Panthers, Hamas, Iran, and Fidel Castro could ever possibly be a party's nominee for POTUS and STAND A CHANCE OF WINNING!!!! :o
How is this freaking possible? ???

Lots of reasons, not the least of which is lack of moral foundation and knowing who we are in this nation. Our core beliefs are being rejected by more and more people. Think back to 2002...is there anyway anyone with a middle name like he has, a mooslim (mispelled intentionally) daddy and those relationships could have been considered....no way.
Six years later....is it desensitization? Is this the fruit of not standing for something? Picking the lesser of 2 evils in elections?
I do not like the society we are becoming.

The other day, shortly after clinching the delegate count, he was interviewed by a CNN reported and flip-flopped on his promise to start troop withdrawals from Iraq immediately. He's now singing a song that sounds strangely like McCain or even Bush. I believe one of his quotes went something like, “it’s a dynamic and changing situation," and "it would be irresponsible to...blah...blah.." Didn't we all already know that?
Gotta love consistency. Get ready for more!

I think I'd be more surprised if someone pointed out something that Obama was consistent on, other than taxes and gun control of course.

Part of it may be because he is a new face, not the same old crew. Another part of it may be that he attends church on a fairly regular basis, even if that church IS a bunch of crazy America hating demagogues. These are the same type of "I have all the only right answers" A$$holes that have blackened the reputation of Christianity through out history. Things like the inquasition, and sectarian fueding in Europe undermine the many good deeds of the majority. The milk of human kindness does not flow in their veins. :-[

Thats because in the primary he is trying to appeal only to the Dems, and mainly the far left..... now that the general election has begun he will try to take a more moderate position and tray to appeal to all voters -------------> "Tell them anything that they want to hear so they will vote for me".

To all intents and purposes, it is the society we have already become.
Most of you on this site know how pessimistic I am about where we are and where we are continuing to go. And that the fix is in, and you and I don't really matter except to thwart at elections, to be marginalized and rendered completely pointless.
Every so often someone comes along, like some folks on this site who have served in the sandbox and show themselves to be good, decent people who lived up to their responsibility and served well. That makes me proud, and all the more determined to do all I can to prevent the downward spiral.
But I am still pessimistic. >:(

How about this for a campaign motto:
Obama for President! BEATS WORKIN'!!
Once ridiculed as a dishonorable philosophy, enrollment in taxpayer funded entitlements is now more generally regarded as a clever and self-righteous way to overcome "oppression". ME! NOW!!!

My former sister in law was born without both lower legs - thalidomide as I recall. Still, she got prosthetics, skied competitively, and worked her way to Director level in a US cellular phone company. Then she met husband #2, a single amputee, who has taught her how to suck at the gummint teat. She quit her job and now they spend their whole life living it up at the taxpayer's expense.
My kids will not have anything to do with her anymore, they disrespect her just that much. And she used to be favorite aunt #2 out of a bunch.

Perhaps there should be a fresh thread, but here we are in Raleigh, NC, 06-09-2008, to witness the kickoff of Obama's new economic initiative to fix the economy. The theme banner reads: "Change that Works for You" . I heard his explanation of the plan. Sounds to me like- Change that works, so you don't have to.
Remember the TV theme song, "He Robs from the Rich, gives to the Poor, Robin Hood, Robin Hood, Robin Hood!" ??, Well, some of us over 50 do. It was a great kid show, but not so much fun when you are grown up and are considered among the targeted "rich".
Hey Pathfinder! Yea, you, wealthy Dude! Barack is looking for you. If you see him, please tell him that I, like a lot of his voters, died already.
The possibility that a President, with the authority to wield the true focused force of civil authority, intends to make a determination as to whether I have more than my share of anything, take what he determines to be my excess, and redistribute it to those of his choosing, is enough to make me utter the Hollywood liberal threat to leave the country if so-and-so is elected. If I just knew a better place to go??
Hey, Barack (he has lurkers). Keep your stimulus checks. Don't corner me. Claim Newt's American Solutions as your own, without prejudice, and really fix it for ALL of us.
Mac.

Says it all and a bag of chips. Very typical of people supporting B. Hussein Obama. They like the idea of a well spoken black man but have no idea of the man.

I think I'm more surprised this interview came from Chris Matthews than I am about someone who can't name an accomplishment of B'HOs; considering Matthews has been both drinking and serving the B'HO cool aid for sometime now. Also the guy at the end I think was Doberman...I mean Olberman (I apologize to Dobermans everywhere).

When pinned down for FACTS the party of "Diversity" always responds with accusations that their questioners are Homosexual, homophobic, (Sometimes both) racist, fascist, or bigot. Usually Racist ind Fascist come first, In fact those words slip so readily from the lips of the socialist democrats that it makes one wonder about THEIR dirty little secrets. Any one else remember Jesse Jacksons "Hymie's in Hymie town" comment ? Why do the Socialists ALWAYS support the Palestinians and Islamo Fascists ? Seems like bigotry, anti semitic racism to me. While I'm on a rant, this ties in with a particularly offensive letter to the Editor I saw in Mondays local paper. Did you ever notice that these self righteous a$$holes make their anti America tirades in places like Hollywood Ca., New York NY, or Laconia NH. The very people they ridicule are the ones making it possible for them to speak out with out getting their heads kicked in. If America is such a horrible place, why do they stay when they are perfectly free to go to some Socialist Workers Paradise like Cuba,(Tropic island) North Korea, (A Skiers dream) Iran (heart of ancient Persia) or exotic Zimbabwe ? Did you ever notice that when one of them DOES "vote with their feet" and flees this den of evil capitalism, they always seem to wind up in the south of France or some other playground of the bourgeoisie. They accuse "Bush" of going to war for oil, but we only get 14% of our foreign oil from the Arabian gulf, if we were actually invading for oil we would have taken Canada which supplies about 40% of our imports, ( no language barrier and MUCH closer) Yet every damn one of them has at least one car, air conditioning, TV, gas, oil or electric heat, cell phone, computer, washer/dryer,hairdryer etc etc etc... After they let their car run to get warm or cool depending on the weather, they leave their air conditioned heated home close the garage door with an electric door control and drive to a rally to stop something like a new refinery, power plant or oil well in ANWR. It looks to me like they are a bunch of hypocrites ready to blame all the worlds problems on America, but to soft and gutless to give up any comforts to help with solutions. By the way, the answer to my earlier question, why don't the socialists go to socialist counties, Its because those countries are 3rd world sh!tholes where their whining would get them nothing but a good beating by the authorities who are mostly corrupt thugs. These sissies think Abu Graib was "torture". it did not even rise to the level of hazing, The North Koreans, Iranians, or Syrians could QUICKLY teach them what is Torture, and what is nothing more than mean spirited razzing.

You have accused the Dems of hypocrisy. Oh, my! Here is an example of how honest they can be. Obama spoke here yesterday on his economic policy. In attendance was NC Governor Mike Easley (D), previously a Clinton endorser. On stage, he greeted Obama with "I know I'm late, but I am on the train. I'd rather be a bum on the boxcar of the Obama train than at the front of the bus with John McCain." He should fit right in to everybody else on the train already. That was a truthful statement. See? Honesty is the hallmark of the Obama campaign! ;) Mac.
