Title: Tuckable holsters
Post by: TexasAggie01 on July 19, 2007, 01:37:35 PM
My experience with tuckable holsters has not been so good. They tend to be great IWB holsters, but not so great at concealing under a tucked-in shirt. How about y'all?

concealing is 1 thing ,getting to it is another. I would go with smart carry or maybe cargo pants holster,if I wanted to deep conceal.

+1. I have tried a number of tuckables, including Mitch Rosen's products, and they do not work for me. If you want to carry a big pistol take a long look at Ken L. Null's UNS or his version of the Vern Humphrey, both of these holsters work for me with a 1911 under a T-shirt. Regards, Richard ;D

For concealed carry in warm weather i have yet to find a holster that is better than the clipdraws. I have been carrying my G19 all day, with one in the pipe, using a VERY URBAN CAMMIE(flowers and palm-trees) bowling shirt.

Seems I'm not alone here. I've owned three Milt Sparks' holsters, one tuckable and two plain IWB. All were excellent IWB, but the tuckable didn't work all that well. When used as IWB, it was fantastic. I currently carry either SmartCarry or with a Comptac C-TAC tuckable as a IWB.

I carried a .38 with a conceal hammer using Hip Grips and had no problems.  Very comfortable and easy to get  to.

+1 for CrossBreed, specifically their SuperTuck holster.  I carry concealed in one every day.

Well try being a woman and the problem magnifies. At least you guys wear kinda baggy cargo shorts and pants and stuff like that. I am struggling to find something for this summer . Unless I wear my T-shirts baggy and on the outside, it is gonna be hard to conceal anything.
E12 and Hazcat.. (http://www.cascity.com/howard/animations/zipper.gif)SHUT UP...*no comments from the peanut gallery.
  ;D

No really.I'm serious!  It's a Big problem and I need a solution.

High Noon holsters has a tuckable one, the "Alter Ego", that works really well for me and a friend of mine uses a Galco Skyops tuckable for his G19 and says he loves it.

Anyway.. back to subject...

Here is some pictures on the High Noon forum..interesting.

I don't know about the gals, but a guy could get by with a carry gun in the back pocket.  Everyone would just think he was scratching ... until the draw was complete  :o

That is essentialy the type I use with my P3AT (actually mine is an old leather holster for a 22 snubbie that I cut down for it).  It works very well but if you tuck your shirt then you will have to pull the shit out to draw.

Just saw that so ya beat me to it jumbo....  ;D

Just got home awhile ago..  Been gone to a cook out tonight ( it is 84 degrees here today in Kansas.. Un-frickin-believable) so my ex and son Derek cooked for about 10 of us. Had a whole heap of BBQ riblets on the charcoaler.. I added Macaroni -cheese... had Baked beans and pasta salad..lots of cold beer and whiskey...
Not too bad for a Thursday night in redneck-ville.  ;D
