Tuckable holsters
« on: July 19, 2007, 01:37:35 PM »
My experience with tuckable holsters has not been so good. They tend to be great IWB holsters, but not so great at concealing under a tucked-in shirt. How about y'all?

concealing is 1 thing ,getting to it is another. I would go with smart carry or maybe cargo pants holster,if I wanted to deep conceal.

+1. I have tried a number of tuckables, including Mitch Rosen's products, and they do not work for me. If you want to carry a big pistol take a long look at Ken L. Null's UNS or his version of the Vern Humphrey, both of these holsters work for me with a 1911 under a T-shirt. Regards, Richard ;D

For concealed carry in warm weather i have yet to find a holster that is better than the clipdraws. I have been carrying my G19 all day, with one in the pipe, using a VERY URBAN CAMMIE(flowers and palm-trees) bowling shirt.

Seems I'm not alone here. I've owned three Milt Sparks' holsters, one tuckable and two plain IWB. All were excellent IWB, but the tuckable didn't work all that well. When used as IWB, it was fantastic. I currently carry either SmartCarry or with a Comptac C-TAC tuckable as a IWB.

I carried a .38 with a conceal hammer using Hip Grips and had no problems.  Very comfortable and easy to get  to.
