Title: Obama Bows to the Saudi King
Post by: 1776 Rebel on April 02, 2009, 05:45:00 PM
Alan Keyes has a fascinating topic on his blog today. I have to say that it makes me think we've been hoodwinked or a genuine idiot occupies the White House. I also can't forget at his inaguration parade a General standing at side quietly instructing him when to salute the troops passing by...
...when Barack Obama met with the King of Saudi Arabi recently he proffered what might be interpreted as a deep and unmistakeable bow. Whatever the eventual excuse given for this apparent obeisance, I doubt it will accompany the photo as it is reproduced in publications throughout the Islamic world.

Bush never bowed!
Thanks OBAMA.

Bush was too busy wiping his chin, looking for the breath mints and dusting off his knees after flying the Bin Laden family (and all their info) out of America on 9/12, to bow to his trick. No ,thats not a conspiracy suggestion AT ALL, just pointing out that Poppy and Junior and Cheney are all Saudi ass kissesr from way back. Lets please not save our outrage for Obama and pretend that we are shocked, shocked at this behavior. Criticise yes, but lets check the hypocricy at the door. fightingquaker13 who's wondering what the point of being an empire is if you have to take shit from the help

Easy there fightingquaker,... you can't mention knees and breath mints, and chins without good ol' bubba Clinton who turned down the big one Usama Bin Laden more than once from Yemen who offered him to us.
"Too much of a hot potato" said Clinton. As Monica was busy,......
Imagine the change in history if he)Clinton) had grown a set and said get em'.
The Bush bashing won't work. Stop drinking the Kool-Aid.
tw lights a another cigar,(Monica reference), glad the forum is up and running.....
Bush bowing to the Pope is not a Head of State. It's respect.
Plus, a bow, WITHOUT breaking eye contact is also a show of respect in other countries.
We may want to b**** slap some of these people, but this takes it to another level, and is why I can not be a politician.
;D
BULLSEYE Pathfinder!!!

Well, I've got to say, that as much as I'd like to stop Bush bashing, its just too much fun. As the great Dr.Thompson said, kicking a man when he's down is a classic for a reason, and a whole lot easier on the knees. ;) As far as slick Willy goes (and remember when that nick name didn't come with the ewww! factor? How can you even smoke a cigar while typing that?), I voted for the elder and smarter Bush. Plus the bowing while "looking in the eyes" bit, I don't see a lot of eye contact between W. and Pope Benedict nee Carsdinal Ratzinger in the above photo. I have to say this, and please understand I mean no disrespect to the Catholic Church as every organization has its bad apples. This man though, was Cardinal Law's chief sponsor at the Vatican. When Law was brought out to be an accesory to child rape, Ratzinger, now Benedict, protected him and honored him by letting him say part f the funeral mass for Pope John Paul II (A real Pope and a great man).Bush was on bended knee, eyes cast down, to a guy who helped an accessory to the rape of American children. Please understand this is NOT CATHOLIC BASHING. Just a problem I have with one cardinal and this pope. fighing quaker13 who is wondering about a church door in Wittenburg and wondering if Pope Benedict remembers why it has a nail hole in it

Now I know what ass O's are going to do after GW leaves office. They will continue to bad mouth "Bush" every time their Chicago scumbag embarrasses America. Americans bow to no one, but then BO isn't an American is he ? He's a "citizen of the world". (Where's that puking smilie ?)

"On bended Knee"
Sorry don't see that. Not a Catholic here either and I think his head is bowed too far but as to the Saudi 'holding hands' no big deal, it's a cultural thing. And as to the lady, she is sorter and he was simply getting to eye level.
Obama BOWED! NO "ifs", no "ands", no "buts". TOTALLY subservient!

That SMILIE MARINE is wherever I want to put it!(Channeling R. Lee Ermey) >:( Seriousley though, we have cut these barbarians way too much slack since the cold war. Just like every third rate dictator in Latin america thought they could walk on water if they denounced the reds, we have let the Saudis peddle their nonsense for far to long. Its not Bush, its not Obama, it goes back to Ike, and every president since. Even after we saved their butts in the first Gulf War, there is no grattitude, just a sense of entitlement. This particular tail has wagged the dog for far too long. fightingquaker13 who grows a tad weary of the "religion of peace" rap

Reasons #42 and #1 why it is tough taking you at all seriously. Engaging in a pointless activity while fun is still pointless, and in this case, ultimately misses the mark by focusing on trivialities and quirks rather than the substantive issues that could be addressed.
Either fight or be a Quaker - you can't be both, you can only be an oxymoron. And not in a funny George Carlin way either. Like the Jews for Jesus, you can't have it both ways no matter how much you want it or think it's cute or funny - or even representative of deep thought.

We covered this yesterday when it happened, but in my estimation, the worst amateur moment thus far in the Obama presidency came when the President of the United States executed a bow to a monarch so deep that he literally had to take a step back to balance himself. Not just any monarch, either, but one of the most repressive among those nations friendly to the US. Interestingly, this came just after Barack Obama met with another monarch, and the contrast between Barack Obama’s show of respect is striking. I put together this video to demonstrate it:
Video of him bowing for Queen Elizabeth vs Saudi King (vastly different) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gJtIss7xso
Quote
People criticized George Bush for holding hands with the Saudi king, but holding hands does not signify submission to another’s authority, and certainly not in the manner that Obama’s bow does here. Holding hands is a sign of friendship. And for those who believe that a bow is another sign of friendship, note that Obama didn’t execute a bow like this for the Queen of the UK, and the Saudi monarch doesn’t bother to reciprocate, either.
And I’m certain that Obama’s fans will try to rationalize this, but my good friend Scott Johnson at Power Line notes that the DU had already put together a defense of Michelle Obama if she didn’t curtsy when meeting the Queen
And President Obama shouldn’t have bowed to the Saudi monarch, either. No American President should ever make such an obsequious display to any monarch — ever.

Oh, Pathfinder, be of good cheer. We're all friends here, I hope. :) No need to let something as absurd as politics get peronal.
To answer your points though, bashing Bush is not pointless. Particularly when talking about obsequisness to the Saudis. They are the ones who are exporting the radical Wahabi sect of Islam globally and at state expense. Who do you think pays for all those madrassas? The royal family does it to keep the mullahs happy, and send the radicals overseas. Hell, they were holding Jery Lewis style telethons for hamas suicide bomber's families post 911. Bush never said a word. The point here is that I never saw a lot of complaint from the righ about this. Now that Obama did something boneheaded though, its like y'all have just discovered that the saudis aren't our friends. I'm not upset about criticing Obama its just lets please not think Aha! we've got him now for making a dumbass rookie mistake (lets remember this is the guy who bought the British PMs gifts at Blockbuster). Lets also be very aware of how previous administrations, W. in particular, have taken far too much crap from the Saudis. This didn't start january 20th. As for the fighting quaker thing, it is the name of the football team at a college where I taught. No one took them very seriousley either, but then its kind of hard to be Quaker linebacker. Do I run the guy over or not? :-\ Quakers fight!Quakers fight! Kill Quakers kill!! ;D peace fightingquaker13 who still thinks its funny, and yet also very true, for himself and the team. I gotta tell ya, this says more of his staff than it says of BHO. Consider he should have been briefed on the way as to etiquette, and he apparently was not, that's my assumption. I will not just blame his staff, as his choice of staff says more about BHO, than it does about his staff.
