OK, COOL looking gun that has good lineage BUT (call me an idiot) what caliber is it?
BAR cool, but have you held one or shot it, at 21 lbs as I remember, it is really cool off the bipod, or cup, try shooting it off hand in single action. You need to be a big strong boy and have some resolution to try it.... Not trying to badger your choice, but it is a heavy piece. Definitely not trying to diminish the value it gave to our armed forces, or the soldiers who carried and implemented it.
If its gotta be a handgun... The "Great Humungus" here on the bottom.;D Deer hate that gun! Hopefully a black bear will soon too! ;D
Ruger Super Redhawk, 300 Grain hollow points at 1,300 FPS... BOOMBASTIC!

Squirrel season you say? Ruger Mark III Hunter

Bad guys stopping you from getting to a long gun to defend yourself properly? Glock 30

For me, it's the 1921/28 Thompson SMG. Why? I like the finish on the gun. I like the round it shoots. I like the history behind it. And I love the sound of it when it's rocking in full auto! That gun just says, to paraphrase ZZ Top, "I'm bad. I'm nationwide!"
Other than that, my favorite is my Glock 30. Why? It saved my life.....
And then after all of that it's between a Para Ordnance 18*9 and a S&W 649.......
man i wish i had a picture of it.. but my glock 26 with crimson trace grips... 9mm remington sabers in it 147 grain.. muahahaha hits and stops, getting night sights put in this weekend.. i know a little redundant night sights and laser.. but i HATE guns that dont have night sights... man wish i had a picture of it..
SHAZAAM!! YOUR WISH IS MY COMMAND!

hmmm not a fan of how they look.. never fired em so idk... maybe some day i'll borrow one from someone and test it at the range (steyr that is)
Just buy it, stick it in the safe, and when the wife sees it you say "That old thing? I've had that for a long time...."
Yup, that's what I usually say. And will say - look to the end of my list.
Favorites - like others, I have what I like. In no particular order . . .
CZ40P - my favorite little mutant gun
Sig P220 - what Glocks and Steyrs should be, comfortable, good looking and accurate
Sig 556 - big, heavy, brutal looking
AR 6.8 - under construction
Navy Arms 45 Colt Schofield - sold it but fun gun esp. once I had the barrel mouth chamfered and it stopped spraying hot lead back on my hand - Schofields get high marks on the cool-o-meter, though
Ruger 10/22 - classic, accurate, fun, saved me at my first Appleseed
Elsie Pea - goes everywhere with me
Marlin 336 RC - I must really like these as I sold one, had seller's remorse, immediately went on a scavenger hunt, found and bought a pawn shop special made in 1948 - first year for that model
Para TAC-S - not mine yet, but before the end of this month it will be, my first 1911 (Commander size)
PS: Philw, it ain't us that sucks. Look to your gummint for the huge suck factor.

Colt SAA

How many FPS from the popcorn?
At least it's not a toe. :)

My favorite firearm that I own is a toss up between my blued 4" 1969 Colt Python, in pristine all original condition and a safe queen, or my 5" Nighthawk Custom 1911, 100% Heine specked with Diamond Black finish. My Colt M4 is right there as well.Yeah! I like to see a pic of your custom 1911 w/ the black diamond finish?
I'd love to own a Barrett 98 Bravo .338 Lapua one day as well as a WWII Luger...... :)

Yeah....me too, me too.......... I love 1911 porn....... ;D ;D ;D
Very nice, CDR. I particularly like the way the muzzle is crowned.1991A1 Colt Commander....
I've already posted my #1.....but here is my very close choice for second.....I've bonded with it almost as much as the Series 70...
Almost...... ;)
Thanks Peg.....the Nighthawk shoots even better than it looks.
I like your Colt......did the gun come with stippling or did you have it done later on?
Thanks. It cost a bundle to do. ;)
It's non-skid tread tape for stairs and doorsteps (basically skateboard tape). Got it at Lowe's for like $5.00 for a 8" x 24" sheet. Very sticky. Just cut it to fit, cleaned the front strap with denatured alcohol and stuck it on. It's held up for over 5 years, and I still have plenty for when it needs replacing. Also cut out a set of side panels for a friends Glock 22.

I do that to all my 1911's. I take the grip panels off and leave the deck tread long so it's covered by the grips when put back on, just to help keep it more secure. Not that it's going anywhere.
The 10/.22 easy to shoot, cheap to shoot and its just so much fun because you can do all day and not feel it the next.
Wow. Nice Colt. Thanks my Uncle bought it back in the late 50's. He was a Gary Cooper fan, thus the Coop, he carved in the real elephant ivory grips! Of course he did that as a teenager, and he has long since past on.
