Just simple and basic.

Today I have about 2 pounds of ground hog (game), 2 pounds of hot Italian sausage and 3 pounds of ground pork ribs (store bought).

Add salt, pepper, tomato 'stuff' (diced, whole crushed, etc.), garlic, oregano, basil, onion, and of course LOTS of peppers (chilies)!  I also toss some mushrooms in towards the end.

I'm in Brazil on business again.  We're going over to a colleague's house...she and her husband are making a traditional Brazilian barbeque.

Mmmm....lots of grilled meat on skewers around an open wood fire.  And lots of wine from the Mendoza valley.

I didn't go grocery shopping so I went to a Mexican restaraunt and ordered a combination plate. I ordered a dozen tacos with it so I don't have to cook tomorrow either.

elk and pork tacos... been stewing them in the slow cooker for about 8 hours now with chilis and other things... its going to be great.

The elk is so lean you need to add the pork for "fat"

one thing I miss about the Bay area was real Mexican food, the stuff they have around here is crap.
Please send some Mexican cooks, don't tell them about snow.  ;D
We do get great Thai food though.

I have NO IDEA what that is but see the above  ;D

Tell you what guys...I went to a colleagues house tonight in Brazil.  He cooked Brazilian BBQ...ribs, chicken, sausage, tenderlion, buttsteak.  All grilled on skewers over a wood fire.  Compleately cover the meat with large grain sea salt prior to putting it over the fire.  No other seasoning.  Brush off the the salt after it is cooked. Serve with homeade potato salad and ground mojajao root...  Malbec and Cabernet from Medoza Valley.

Abosolutely fantasitic.  Vanilla ice cream and Coinitreau for dessert.

That's livin'

Because of weird meeting schedule this week and lots of travel time, I got no supper on Wednesday, had left over hotdish when I got home at 10:30 last night, and you guy's are talking food ... much of it GOOD food  >:(

Just got of the phone with, as MB would call her, the spousal unit, and she was asking if I was coming home so she had to cook.  Doesn't sound like much tonight either.  However, #2 child is coming through on her way to the State Fair next weekend and I'm off then, so I think it may be a good time to put in an order for some of that good beef or pork  ::)

Yup ... Next weekend will be a meat weekend at Mikey's house  ;D

She's the official "meat lady" in the family!  She's got access to the good stuff in mass quantities, and it has all been good so far.

Sorry, Wolfe,

I abso-firiggin-lutely HATE to make 'plans'.  If I'm up for it I go, if I have to 'plan' I ain't gonna be there.

M58,

I agree,

We have seen pixs of their friends and family so we should fit right in!  ;)

The supper was deeelicious!  Burritos & Enchiladas ..salsa and chips... Black beans and rice.

I made homemade jalapeno and cheese tortillas and filled them with shredded beef that I spiced up real good and hot with all kinds of yummy ingredients. I made 2 huge pans of them.. I have one whole pan full left.. Wish you all were close.. I'd share..

Then we played Pinochle .. The girls ( that's be me and Becky..)  ended up winning $2.60 cents off the guys.
We were up by about 10 bucks.. but one game couldn't  get any meld or cards so it sunk us...  It was a fun night..  (and you're right.. you all would fit in just fine.)

Homemade jalapeno and cheese tortillas. That sounds great with nothing else needed, however I wouldn't hesitate to rip into the rest of that awesome sounding meal. You sure you're not a Texan? ;D
