season 2: Episode 4: Out on the town!
« on: January 18, 2010, 10:10:53 AM »
You’re out with friends at a local restaurant or maybe at a bar having drinks.  Even though you’re minding your own business and not looking for trouble, it can still find you. In this episode, The Best Defense team dispels the myths of the typical “bar fight” and teaches you what it really takes to keep yourself and your companions safe when you’re out on the town.

Excellent episode. Swear I've seen every scenario played out at one time or another.

The first one with the gentleman in the booth. Before it pllayed out I was saying to myself, dude you are so screwed. Boxed in with no escape. Ignore a violent encounter. What if the place catches fire and you have to escape? Sitting in a corner booth may be where they find your crispy critter corpse. Personally I look for a booth near an exit door.

The standing at the bar scenarios. Well done. The first one is how it usually goes. The second is how it sometimes goes. The third is how it rarely goes but is the best defense. Bug out. Yeah, bugging out. Minor barroom altercation or your entire city just got flooded. Bug out.

Only thing I wish there was more information on was defensive weapons in a bar or other environment where a concealed handgun is illegal. Could be whole episode on that. For example even the knife as seen in one of the scenarios could be illegal in a bar depending on the locale.

The trailer for the next episode showed a continuation of this scenario and even shows Mike pulling a knife in defense of himself when Rob breaks a beer bottle. I just have to laugh at the fact that Rob can plays a really good bad guy. I hope you two switch it up at some point just so we can see Mike go to the dark side...
