Camp Perry First timer
« on: March 05, 2010, 10:28:07 AM »
Hello All,

I will be going to Camp Perry for the first time this Summer as a spectator.  I'm wondering if there is anyone with some inside knowledge they would be willing to share.

I have a hotel room reserved already.

What should I know that isn't on the CMP website?

My CCW is reciprocal with OH.  Can I carry concealed at CMP?  I know it sounds weird, but I would rather ask a dumb question than break law or violate a club rule.

Any information that you would be willing to share about things like food, parking, things to (or not) bring or ettiquette would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your help!

Stay Safe,
Scott

There exists a law, not written down anywhere but inborn in our hearts; a law which comes to us not by training or custom or reading but by derivation and absorption and adoption from nature itself; a law which has come to us not from theory but from practice, not by instruction but by natural intuition. I refer to the law which lays it down that, if our lives are endangered by plots or violence or armed robbers or enemies, any and every method of protecting ourselves is morally right.

CP is not a club!  It is a military base of sorts.  When I was there to work there was no gate or guard on duty when you went in which may have changed over the years.  I see no reason why you would need a gun since there are so many already there!  LOL!  That being said I would check to see if the NRA can help you on this one (they may have a rule in place about loaded weapons off the firing line!) or the Ohio AG.  There might even be something posted at the main entrance.  I live in Ohio and if I was going I would carry anyway and make sure I stayed low profile.

FWIW
