Have you found out how the mother gets in and out?  Richard

The mother can easily jump the wall. It is cinder block and about 5' tall. The little kitty's won't be able to unless the mother grabs them by the nape of the neck and takes them. She may in fact do that. Our house cat is 16 and she can still make it to the top of the fridge in one leap. Although that is becoming more and more challenging every day.   Bill T.

The mother may not be able to leap the wall carrying the kitten as they grow larger.  Might want to arrange a "ladder for her to "climb" the wall easier.  She may not want to move them, as she has found a safe place inside the wall.
