I agree.  We keep one in the closet to fall back to.

I would opt for a good lighting system over the optic. Even as Clint Smith did with a flashlight held on by rubber bands.

I think Benny speaks the truth here.  Might I suggest a site for a flashlight that someone here turned me on to www.all-battery.com .  I bought a couple of their Tenergy LED lights and I love them...paid $30 for each though now they are $50.  Maybe they'll go down again....  Watch close to the description....some called tactical (that's t-a-c-t-i-c-a-l with a whine Mr. Bane  ;D ) do not have the strobe...others do.  I got the one with two CR123 batteries and no strobe but a nice striker bezel and the small single battery with the strobe (and SOS) but no striker bezel.
